"Ah.. Summer! Isn't it just exciting?" I ask Wyatt as he drives me to the dock where Sparky is. (My Seadoo) I can't believe my parents let me take it out alone on the first time, but I did learn how to use it at the dealership where my dad took me too for that specific reason. Well, I am 17 years old, and I'm sure there will be other boaters at ten o'clock in the morning. "Yeah! It's just wonderful! It reminds me of pink flowers and rainbow-pooping unicorns!" He says mocking my excitement. I look at him with a fake smile. "Alright. Here you go. Your chariot awaits." he says pointing to Sparky. "Thank you very much, kind sir." I answer in the same tone he used on me. I hop out of the truck and slowly make my way down to the dock. When I reach my destination I begin to take the cover off, but it's stuck. I can't get it. After a few more minutes of tugging and pulling, I remember that my instructor said to pull it off of the handle first. I feel so stupid right now. I pull of the cover in no time now that I recalled the tip. I suddenly hear some laughing coming from a dock across the cove. I glance up to see a guy laughing at me. "Oh! You think that's funny?" I yell. "At least I know I could kick your butt on one of these!" I continue. "Ooh! I'd like to see you try." He yells back. " Is that a challenge?" I reply pointing to his orange Seadoo Spark. He seemed to be caught off guard by my approach. "You're on." He said. Oh, gosh. What have I gotten myself into. I've never even been on this thing before, but honestly, I'm excited. I've always been an adventurous kind of girl. This will be a piece of cake. What could possibly go wrong?

"First one to the bridge and back, wins."
The stranger says with no worry in his tone. I look at him with a death stare trying so hard to hide my nervousness. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I don't have a clue who this guy is, and I'm racing him. I don't even know his name. Oh, boy! Am I glad my parents aren't here right now! My best friend Casey should be here, though. I mean my opponent has a "partner". He just walked onto the dock with a surprised look on his face. "What are you doing, Blake?!" The new guy asks. "This nobody, clearly, doesn't know who I am." He answers. "What did you just call me?" This made me furious. He doesn't even know my name and he's insulting me. Who does he think he is? "Oh, don't worry about it, Babe. You'll learn your lesson in a few moments." Oh, this is not happening. "Don't call me that." I tell him with a firm voice. "Oooh, feisty one, are you?" He sure thinks he's somethin'. "Shut up and drive, Big Mouth." I finally say so I can get this thing over with. "OW OW OW!" Him and his friend yell. I roll my eyes in their direction, so they can see. "Chris, count us down!" Blake yells. "Take your mark!" Oh, no! "Get set!" Oh, please no! "GO!" AHHHHHHHHHHH! I take off, and then... the whole world disappeared. It's just me, Sparky, and the water. I love this. Next thing I know, I'm at the bridge cutting a turn with a splash. We're half way to the finish line. When I reach it. I suddenly snapped out of what felt like a dream. And... dang... Blake was back. Wait. How is he already back? I could have sworn he was right beside me. What just happened? "Babe, don't worry 'bout it to much. No one beats me." Ugh. This guy is so annoying. "Who are you?" I ask. "What's it to ya?" He replies. "Oh, Babe, don't go getting a big head. It's absolutely nothing to me." I guess I'm pretty straight forward. I've never really been the shy kind. "Ouch! That one hurt." He says putting a hand on his heart like he just got stabbed. "I'm glad I could help." I say with a wink. "What's your name?" He asks. "What's it to ya?" I say repeating his tone and sly smile, but I don't stay for his answer. Instead, I take off on Sparky not really sure where I'm going. Blue Gill Grill maybe? I guess that's where I'll go. Blue Gill is a restaurant on the lake. It's a really cool place. I love it. They make amazing food.Hey! Meet me at Blue Gill? I have to tell you something. - Sherry
