She was scared. That was the simple explanation.

She ate a protein bar for dinner instead of leaving her room. They wouldn't still be out there, but she wouldn't chance it. Instead, she set up her laptop to watch videos. There was a bittersweet happiness to hear the voice of her favorite Youtubers. Then she took a deep breath and set up her own recording equipment. She hesitated a long time for beginning. She gave her usual introduction.

"So, little kittums, today we're going to revive the age-old tradition of vanilla Minecraft!" She announced. She made sure her voice wasn't too loud, just in case. "Today, I'm just going to be starting out on a random seed. Here we go! Now let's let it load..." She looked around her in-game. "Yes, this is pretty good. On top of a snow-capped mountain, surrounded by plains and forest." It was a decent spawn. "Now let's start out by 'getting wood'!" She giggled at her own lame, over-used joke and preceded to record building her house. It was simple, but cozy. After quite a while of building, she was done recording and she had felt some of her stress melt away. Building houses in Minecraft was something normal for her.

She eventually set aside her laptop. She sighed, got up, and changed into a nightgown. It didn't take her long to return to her warm bed and burrow into the blankets. With a contented sigh and a forcibly clear mind, she settled down to sleep.

When she awoke in the morning, something felt off. She could see nothing strange, so she just continued her routine. She got ready for the morning and returning to work. She noticed that she was a bit late and grabbed a protein bar as breakfast. Bad idea, because she had to juggle her keys, jacket, and breakfast while trying to unlock the door. She finally settled on leaving the bar in her mouth to free a hand to open the door. The moment the door was open, she sighed and continued to eat normally.

"Good morning, Sarah," the hotel manager greeted. She gave him a weak smile back.

"Hi," she said quietly. She really did appreciate him keeping the boys out last night. If he hadn't, she would have had no clue what to say to them.

"They're waiting for you in the kitchen. Go ahead and sit down." The manager informed her. The hotel did serve breakfast, but she hardly ever ate it. She swallowed the last of her bar and threw away the wrapper.

"No thanks," She declined and headed towards the door.

"Sarah!" Adam called as she passed the doorway to the breakfast room. She paused, but then pretended she couldn't hear him. He jogged over to her.

"That doesn't really work, you know," Quentin informed her. She shot him a glare.

"Come on, let's go sit down," Adam suggested.

"I'm sorry, but I really gotta go-" She attempted to protest, but he grabbed her arm. He steered her towards a table where everyone else sat. She reluctantly sat next to him.

"Are you feeling better?" Emily's voice came from behind her. Sarah spun around in her chair. Her mouth opened in a silent 'o'. "They told me everything." Instantly, Sarah wanted to bolt.

"Just tell us what's going on. We can help," Jason insisted.

"I-I don't want to talk about it," Sarah hesitated.

"But you have to!" Emily exclaimed. "Do you know how many people are worried about you?"

"Well, nobody should!" I retorted.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Emily asked.

"...Worthless..." Ty echoed from her sketchbook. "Do you think about yourself that way?" Sarah chose not to answer, but her eyes held silent affirmation.
