"You're an asshole."

"Why? Because I'm angry that you refuse to go to England with me and meet my mum?"

"No, you're an asshole because you bought plane tickets without talking to me first."

Athena and Louis hit a rough patch. For weeks, the two were constantly fighting, both of them calling each other names and saying things they'll later regret. Many believed they were going to breakup, the arguing and the throwing of random objects being clear indicators that something was going to go down.

But yet, they stayed together.

"It was supposed to be a getaway for the week!" Louis argued, as Athena took her heels off and kicked them against the wall roughly. "We were gonna go, see my mother and siblings, and have a great time. But you-"

"We were having such a good time tonight!"

"-have to go and become a raging bitch."

Athena stood in front of her boyfriend with her hands on her hips in frustration, trying really hard not to punch him square in the face. "Give me one reason why you won't go to England with me." He said through gritted teeth, trying to calm himself and the situation down.

"I have class, Louis. I have to go to class because I need to graduate and get a job."

"I have to do all those things, too, but I'm still going to go to England! This is my mother we are talking about, Athena! She has been wanting to meet you for weeks and as soon as the opportunity comes up, you bail!" Louis yelled, grabbing handfuls of his hair and tugging on strands in frustration.

"You know what," Athena laughed, before storming past Louis into the bedroom and grabbing a duffel bag, shoving a few days worth of clothes in it. "I'm done." She stated, before taking the bag and walking back towards the door, Louis grabbing her hand as she passed by. "Louis, let me go." She seethed.

"We are going to settle this right now." He replied with the same tone, causing Athena to glare at him. "Tell me why you won't go with me."

"I said I was done, Louis! I meant it!" She said, ripping her hand from his arm and heading towards the apartment door. Louis went after her, spinning her around quickly and ripping the bag off her shoulder, before throwing her over his shoulder and carrying her to the bedroom. "Louis Tomlinson, put me down!"

Louis tossed her onto the bed and locked the bedroom door, standing in front of it with his arms crossed. "Tell me." He hissed, as she sat on the edge of the bed, trying not to throw something hard at him. "Why won't you go with me?"

"I'm scared to meet your mother, okay?!" She snapped, covering her face with her hands, raking her hands through her hair. Louis and Athena sat there in silence, the only sounds being Athena's heavy breathing and the traffic outside. "I'm scared she won't like me; all girls fear that. I've never been in a serious relationship like this."

Louis sighed, slowly walking towards Athena and sitting beside her. He slowly reached over and grabbed her hand, cautiously entwining their fingers together. He was surprised when she didn't pull away from him, especially when the normal outcome of them fighting forces Louis to sleep on the couch and gain a terrible back pain in the process.

It was uncertain if all the arguing was good for their relationship, especially if both partners are equal in tempers. But for some reason, it always turned out to be okay. Hence why Louis wanted to spend his life with Athena.

"My mum would love you." He told her. "Mum really wants to meet you, which means she loves you already." He explained, Athena glancing over at him slightly. "And I'm not kidding when I say you are the only girlfriend I've had that she has ever wanted to meet."
