Oh, Neveah, Neveah! Such a sweet girl! So quiet, so shy! You know she's got a big heart, it comes with the name! Neveah, oh, her parents were so clever! They named her Heaven, just backwards, oh what a beautiful name!
That's what people would say about her. No, her name was not 'Heaven' backwards, you'd have to spell her name differently for that. Didn't those idiots know? Couldn't they see? She was not who they said she was. She was not sweet. She was not kind. Her heart may be big, but all it was filled with was cruelty. She was not their little angel. She was not Heaven. She was not.
She was quiet. She was invisible. She was the one who would come at night. At least, that's what she will be - once she finishes her mask.
Neveah had always thrived off the shock from others. As a child she would hide in impossible places and wait for her chance to jump out whispering boo! When the day came that she was finally scared back (a silly prank pulled by a cousin who hadn't lived to see the next day) she discovered she possessed a strange ability - no, a power.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to vanish without a trace? Well, the wondering was over for Neveah. One moment she was there, and then she was gone. Suddenly a world had been opened up to her - a world with no consequence, she could get away with anything.
Surely, she would live up to people's opinions of her. She would rescue cats from trees, pull old ladies out of traffic, save the baby in the burning building. She would do all of that and more, wouldn't she? She would be loved and adored and heroic?
No, she had told herself, that is not what I want.

A/N - Written for prompt #7 of clintskate's Devil's Advocate challenge! This was really spur of the moment, inspired by one of the antagonists in another project I'm working on, so I'm excited to develop her character and see where this goes! Hope you all enjoy!
