Author POV

The night was dark and silent as their convoy of cars sped far from the village. Amelia and Edward sat in the back seat, the tension between them thick but unspoken. Amelia's fingers fidgeted nervously, interlacing with each other. Edward noticed and gently placed his hand over hers, his touch warm and reassuring.

"Don't worry," he said softly, his voice steady. "Everything will be okay."

Amelia hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Edward, I... I wanted to tell you something."

He turned to her, his eyes filled with concern. "Go ahead," he urged gently.

She swallowed hard, unsure where to begin. "Actually, that..." Her voice trailed off as she struggled to find the right words.

Suddenly, the car jolted to a halt, cutting her off. Edward and Amelia exchanged worried glances as the vehicle's abrupt stop shattered the silence. Mr. Abbott quickly stepped out of the car, scanning the area with a sharp eye. He spoke into his earpiece, trying to contact his men in the cars ahead, but there was no response.

"Sir, we have a problem," Mr. Abbott said grimly, turning back to Edward and Amelia. "Stay in the car, Mrs. Davies, and whatever happens, do not step out."

Edward nodded at her, his expression firm. "Lock the doors and stay here"

Before she could protest, Edward stepped out with Mr. Abbott and firmly locked the car from the outside. Amelia watched through the window, her heart pounding as shadows moved in the distance.

A large group of men in dark clothing emerged from the surrounding trees, their faces obscured, their intent unmistakably hostile. One man stepped forward, his voice cold and calculated. "Mr. Davies, we have nothing to do with you. Step aside and let us take her, and no harm will come to anyone."

Edward's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing dangerously. Without a word, he stormed forward and landed a swift, punishing punch on the man's jaw, sending him staggering backward.

Chaos erupted. The men charged, and Edward met them head-on, his fists moving with precision and fury. Mr. Abbott joined the fray, but it was clear that half his team had already been taken out, which explained the earlier silence. Outnumbered and outgunned, Edward and Mr. Abbott with his few men fought fiercely, their determination unwavering.

Edward delivered a powerful kick to one attacker, sending him crashing to the ground, but another lunged at him with a knife. Edward dodged just in time, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it until the weapon clattered to the ground. He slammed the attacker into the side of the car, his protective instincts for Amelia fueling every move.

Inside the car, Amelia clutched the seat tightly, her heart racing as she watched the fight unfold. She wanted to help but remembered Edward's stern warning. The men outside weren't just after her they were willing to kill for it.

As the fight raged on, Edward and Mr. Abbott stood their ground, determined to protect Amelia at all costs. The night echoed with the sound of fists colliding, grunts of pain, and Edward's unwavering resolve.

Those attackers were having enough of these drama and took there guns out, one of the man didn't took a second to shot Edward which missed and Mr Abbott pulled out his gun as well shoting the hand of the men who tried to shot Edward.

Amelia was worried as she looked at Edward suddenly she flinched when the car window suddenly cracked. A man in black attire broke through the glass and unlocked the door, but Edward was quick to push him aside. Attacker shot another bullet and this time it hitted Edward arm, Amelia got panicked. The situation erupted into chaos, but amidst the confusion, a hand reached toward Amelia. Despite the man's mask, his eyes eerily familiar sent a chill down her spine.
