In the morning, Edward sat in his office, arranging the details for his birthday celebration, which this year would be held at a different location for security reasons. With the threat to his wife's safety, he wanted to minimize any chance of an intruder gaining access to their mansion. As a businessman, he decided to turn the event into an opportunity, inviting people from his business circle as well.
Edward picked up the phone and called Ben to confirm everything was in order.
"Yes, Sir, the invitations were sent out two days ago," Ben confirmed.
"And my wife friends?" Edward asked, his voice firm.
"Yes, invitations were sent to them as well," Ben replied.
"Mr. Clarke also received his invitation, right?" Edward added, his mind ticking over the details.
"Yes, we've sent it to him," Ben answered.
Edward paused, thinking about the evening. "Has Mr. Abbott arrived?"
"Yes, sir," Ben said before calling Abbott inside.
As Abbott entered, Edward wasted no time. "What's your investigation saying about Mr. Clarke?" he asked, his tone sharp, as Ben stood nearby.
"Sir, according to my investigation, I'm 100% certain that Mr. Clarke doesn't seem to have any personal rivalries with the Davies group. However, Mrs. Maya and her son, Mr. Nick, are suspicious. As for the attacks, it would be impossible for Mr. Clarke to have hired such high-skilled individuals. Mrs. Maya and Mr. Nick are fully dependent on Mr. Clarke's money, which makes their involvement unlikely," Mr. Abbott reported.
Edward absorbed this information, his thoughts racing.
"What about Mr. Rafael Martin?" he asked.
"Mr. Martin grew up in North America and completed his studies there. I couldn't find anything suspicious during the background check" Mr. Abbott replied.
Edward's gaze hardened. "He still seems like he is not what he seems."
He then turned to Ben. "Increase the security around my wife at the evening party. Also, install more cameras in the mansion-only I should have access to them."
"Understood, Sir," Ben responded, already making notes.
Edward leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. He knew there were still too many unanswered questions, and he wasn't going to let his guard down. The safety of his wife was his top priority.
