The Resistance's Girl Power

"Father. . ." The young girl whispered, looking upon the ruins of the once beautiful Heartland City. "You liar."

She fell to her knees, hitting the ground with her fist. Hot angry tears spilled over her cheeks.

"You said it would be alright!" She accused. "You said you would come back with Mother!"

There was nothing she could hear except her sobs.

"I'm all alone...." She whispered. "There has to be someone else!"

But she felt she was leading herself wrong.

The young girl curled up into a ball, and wept. Well, of course she would. She was only about ten at the time, almost eleven. She was scared to death. 

"Shun!! Yuto!! Mirai!! Finn!!" Someone's voice called out. "I think I found someone! !"

The young girl barely lifted her head, and she saw a girl, about 12, running toward her.

"Are you okay!? Are you hurt!?" The girl cried out.

"Liya, lower the volume." Another girl's voice said. She walked into view with three boys walking beside her. She stopped when she saw her.

"Rhea!" The green haired girl called. "I thought you were captured!"

The young girl named Rhea shook her head.

"F-father lied to me..." She muttered. "He said everything would be alright."

The boys and Mirai Hokoen, the green haired girl, and Liya, the girl that had ran toward her, had made a ring around Rhea.

"Have you seen Ruri?" The boy named Shun asked.

"Shun, you can't just ask a ten year old if she saw your sister," the boy named Finn said.

Mirai had knelt by Rhea.

"Rai and Reyna were captured?"

Rhea shakily nodded.

"T-they told me....not to come out of the basement ....until the sun had risen the next day."

Mirai cursed under her breath.

Liya held her hand out to Rhea. Rhea looked at it.

"Rhea, will you join the Resistance? " She asked. "To fight against the scum that destroyed our home?"

Rhea looked around at the people surrounding her. They all looked weary and tired, but determined. She noticed that everyone except Mirai wore a Red bandana somewhere. And they all had their duel disks on, loaded with their deck.

She took Liya's hand. And nodded.

That's when she decided, the minute she shook her hand, to change.

Warp to the present 3 years later

"Rhea, come on!" Liya called.

The ten year old was now thirteen, and the wicked scar on her face proved it.

She was silent as she followed her.
...
They had lost Finn. He was captured by the Academia for information. And by the picture they had sent with one of their soldiers two weeks after they had taken him, he was barely hanging on by the skin of his teeth.

Mirai had gone stern and Tsun, as had the rest of the Resistance. They just wanted the same thing:

To defeat the Academia and get their lost stars back.

Ruri, Finn, Seiryu and Chun Liao, Rai and Reyna.

Everyone in Heartland.

And they wouldn't stop until they did.

Oh yeah! I changed Liya's bangs slightly to make them look more like Miko's .

And I had a thought!

If Rai and Seiryu are brothers, doesn't that make Mirai and Rhea cousins?
