I had my bag slung over my shoulder ready for the sophmore year of highschool. My auburn hair covered some of my face and my nose ring made my face come together in a sense. I yell from downstairs,

"Bye mom!"

"Wait!"

She runs down the stairs and hugs me tightly, "no drugs, drinking, cigarettes-"

"Boys." My dad cuts her off.

"Okay! Goodbye guys!"

I roll my eyes and text my bestfriend Drey. My parents are in bands. Its kinda annoying even though im their daughter I still get pushed around and bullied.

Drey came hopping beside me. She hugged me and kissed my cheek.

"Whats up?"

"Nothing."

Drey is a lesbian. She came out during the summer. Drey was looking down at her phone the whole time. She is very tech savvy and knows every event going on around school.

"Hey do you want to come to the beginning of the school year party?"

"Uh. Are you going?"

"Yeah. Ill probably just go and drink. Maybe makeout with a straight girl."

"I cant believe youre a junior now!"

"Yeah I know right."

As we approached the school, i felt arms wrap around my waist. I froze up, but was soon let down. I look behind me and see my boyfriend korey.

I smile and kiss him. My dad has no idea that Im with him. He would kill Korey. (Picture)

Korey wasn't popular either. We've known eachother since elementary, but just recently started going out. Drey coughs.

Korey grabs my hand, "So, you have your schedule?"

"Yep! I have mrs.cardeña first period. English."

He looks at the white paper. "Oh! Well aint that a coincidence, me too!"

I laugh, but quiet down when I see, Aricka, the bitch of the school. Korey pulls me closer to him, his cologne made me feel safe. It was weird I know, but it was true.

Aricka turns around, as she does this her brown eyes become darker. Her white high heels clicked towards me and her blue dress swayed as Anika and Yesenia follow behind her. Korey pretty much towered over all the girls in this school so he was pretty intimidating.

"Ah. Emo Band Child right?"

"You know my name aricka... Its Violet."

"I dont give two shits about your name. I heard you got an invite to the annual party... I can't believe it... Youre making your way up on the food chain."

Korey sighs, "uh. We have places to be. Im pretty sure that party is lame as fuck anyway. Goodbye throwupicka."

I laugh silently as drey stands by my side. She still hasn't put that god damned phone down. I roll my eyes at drey. "So im guessing you guys arent making it to the party."

We stop at my locker. I put all my books and things into it. I take out my literature book and lock it.

"I dont know. I mean it depends." I say.

Next stop was korey's locker. Of course he had to go to his friends. They were cool. One girl was of course, Drey's girlfriend, mariah. A boy, Donnie was koreys bestfriend and Aliana and Omar are the ones who get him cigarettes vape etcetera.
