It was the day of the three-day merged family vacation, the plan seemed straightforward—your family and Daisuke's family would spend the weekend at a luxurious island resort.

The place was breathtaking, with pristine beaches, endless blue water, and rows of overwater huts straight out of a travel magazine.
But as picture-perfect as it sounded, you couldn't shake your unease.

You'd been through so much with Daisuke, and there was no denying how much you loved him, but meeting his family in such an intimate setting?
That was a different story.

What if you said the wrong thing?

What if they didn't like you?

The questions swirled in your head as your parents sat in the front seat of the car, chatting animatedly about the trip. You stayed quiet, staring out the window at the increasingly beautiful scenery, trying to calm your nerves.

When you arrived at the resort, it was even more stunning than you'd imagined.
The huts were perched over crystal-clear water, their thatched roofs blending harmoniously with the serene surroundings.

Your family had their own hut, and Daisuke's family had one nearby, but thankfully, the setup allowed you some privacy. You had your own area within the hut, complete with a balcony,
a jacuzzi, and large windows overlooking the sea.

It was the kind of view that could take your breath away.

After unpacking and settling in, you wandered out to your balcony,
the warm sea breeze brushing against your skin.
You leaned on the railing, looking out at the water and letting the moment sink in. It was peaceful here, yet your thoughts remained restless.

Your phone buzzed in your pocket, pulling you out of your reverie.

It was Daisuke.

Smiling, you answered the call.

"Hey,"
you said softly, leaning on the railing.

"Hey, you made it,"
his voice was warm and familiar, instantly soothing your nerves.
"How's your room?"

"It's beautiful,"
you replied, glancing around.
"I feel like I'm in a dream or something."

"Good, And I'm on my balcony.
Look over."
he said, and you could hear the smile in his voice.

Curious, you stepped closer to the edge of your balcony and scanned the huts until you spotted him.
Daisuke was leaning on his own railing, his phone pressed to his ear, wearing that familiar smile that made your heart skip a beat.

He waved, and you couldn't help but grin, waving back.

"This feels weird,"
you said, laughing softly.
"Talking on the phone when you're right there."

"Yeah, but it's kinda nice, isn't it?"
he teased.
"It's like our own little secret line."

"I guess so. How's your family settling in?"
You leaned on the railing, watching him.

"They're good,"
he said, glancing over his shoulder before turning back to you.
"Mom's already unpacked everything like we're staying a month, and my dad's arguing with the concierge about fishing excursions."
