I pulled at the dress I was wearing. It felt like a second skin.

"You look sexy!" Yelled my friend, Hanna when she came out of the bathroom.

"No I don't, and I won't be able to make it through the night, without wanting to rip it off." I replied with a sigh.

"Good thing there will be a bunch of sexy mateless men there to rip it off for you." She said winking at me.

"Ew, that's disgusting." I said sending her a scowl.

She slapped my arm from where I was standing in front of the mirror.

"Come on we're gonna be late." She said, grabbing her keys from my desk, and heading to the door.

"We're already late." I mumbled.

We were going to attend the annual ball, every werewolf pack in America had to attend.

Well besides a certain pack that no one dared get close to. They didn't even bother sending invitations to them anymore.

It was honestly the most boring and cliche thing I have ever been to.

The room was always filled with newly found mates hugging, or sometimes making out in a dark corner.

We got into Hanna's car, I was oblivious to everything as my thoughts wandered.

It was a long ride, the only sound was the music playing in the radio. The song was turned down.

"I hate that song." Hanna said.

"Me too." I agreed.

It was silent for a few minutes, but Hanna broke the silence once again.

"Do you ever get inpatient about not finding your mate?" She asked, her eyes on the road.

"No, I try not to think about it too much." I replied, tapping my fingernails on the arm rest.

"Well I do, it drives me crazy knowing that my mate could be out there, fucking everything he lays eyes on." She said angrily.

I laughed at her, and tried to contain my self when she looked at me with an evil look.

"Why are you laughing?" She asked.

"Because you haven't even met your mate yet and your already assuming the worst." I said, staring out the window.

She laughed along with me and flipped me off.

We finally came upon a large building. It wasn't your typical fairytale castle, it was just a building, but with a dark look to it.

I got out of the car and stretched my arms, wincing once I heard bones pop.

"Whoa, a little rusty over there." Said Hanna.

I flipped her off this time, rolling my eyes at how childish she was.

Soon we both walked inside the building. It was big and full of people, some where seated on tables drinking what looked like wine.

Some where standing and socialising with other people. While the little kids where running around the dance floor, screaming and playing tag.

I spotted my family sitting with Hanna's family, her father was the beta, while my dad was the alpha of our pack.

We had taken separate cars due to Hanna taking longer then necessary, and of course dragging me with her.
