{L/n means last name.} {I had visible tears in this chapter bc of how emotionally attached I have become to Leroy and how attached I made Y/n to him as well 😭 And the chapter is longer than usual. Along with the last chapter of the Convicts Arc. There will still be mentions of them but we are finally over it! Yayyyy🥳}
Y/n spent a long time in the hospital. With a bunch of check up from Kureha and different nurses each time. The good part was that Natsue was willing to bring her a meal for each part of the day. Which she appreciated dearly because of the fact that she just loveeeeeed Natsue's cooking.
Soon enough, it was late, around 4:00pm? Not exactly late, but it was in the afternoon and the sun was going down. So Y/n saw it as becoming late, especially because of the fact that her eyes are becoming heavy in a way.
Y/n laid on the bed, watching the TV, listening to the police reports about the convicts. They started with Spec, stating that he was beat and was put in the hospital to be further examined. Whilst Sikorsky was captured and put back in prison by...Ugh...Biscuit Olivia...or was it Oliver?
Y/n shrugged it off, her eyes glancing back at the TV as it switch to Dorian. Explaining that he was beaten to the point that he was mentally changed into a child's. Forcing him to go to a certain place in which he is cared for rather than prison.
Although, Hector was given the same fate as Sikorsky, having been captured by Olivia. Whilst his picture shown on the TV made him look so different from when she last saw him. With one of his eyes being covered in an eyepatch and the other one showing nothing but a soulless person behind it. She wasn't lying when she said that he was pretty cool. Except for that one time he watched her change, or the other time he beat up Retsu, or when he committed arson and lit Katsumi on fire. Other than that, he was pretty cool.
Then, Yanagi. Just like the others, he was put under custody and back in jail. Which he deserved, especially with what he did to Mr. Shibukawa. Although, Y/n was truly kind of tired of holding the grudge on Yanagi.
That's when Leroy popped on the screen. Making Y/n pause. As she took a deep breath and listened to the reporter. "From all six of the convicts, Leroy's fate was the most unfortunate. When the police found Y/n, they found Leroy, having already died of blood loss, hours before authorities made it to the scene. Immediately Y/n was put into the hospital, while Leroy was already far gone." The reporter stated.
Why did Y/n feel as if she were going to explode? Her breathing picked up as she quickly changed the channel. She had already asked herself this question, but why does she have to keep asking herself this? She was done with Oliver. Done with Baki. Done with Leroy.
Y/n took a deep breath and relaxed herself. Especially as Kureha entered the room. "I forgot to inform you but the police are here to question you about what happened when they found you at the park." Kureha informed, standing at the door as he let in two people.
It included Morio Sonoda and another random police officer. "It is great to see you again, Ms. L/n." Sonoda began. Grabbing a chair near by and sat down beside the bed. Keeping some distance.
"If you don't mind, I'll be asking some questions about what happened the night two days ago." Sonoda added, pulling out a small notepad, along with a ball point pen.
Y/n sighed, as she would have to talk about the sensitive subject. Although, she did answer the questions truthfully and honestly. As she relaxed once the questions were over. She knew she wouldn't be charged with anything like usual. Especially with the questions being very basic. Such as: Why were you both out there? Did you know he was dead when you passed out? Did you engage in the fight first? Things of that nature.
So, he stood from the chair, sliding it bat to face the wall once again. Closing his note pad and stuffed it into the inner pocket of his green suit. Whilst clicking his pen and placing it in the same pocket. "One last thing, when searching Leroy, officers found an envelope with your name on it. So for the sake of your privacy, I think you should be the first to read it. Here is my business card if you ever need to contact me." Sonoda said, pulling out a small white card form his pocket and then grabbed the envelope that the other officer held in their hand.
"Thank you." Y/n simply answered him. Her voice slightly hoarse and tired. Slightly waving her hand to signal goodbye.
In which Sonoda finally left the room. Leaving her to listen to the news, and the sounds of the hospital, the buzzing, talking, and such. Her eyebrows furrowing so much that she felt as if they would fall off. As she placed the bland business card off to the side. Her eyes drifted to the small envelope that had her name written in a slightly cursive handwriting.
Y/n hesitated as she flipped it over and opened the flap. Her hands shaking as her emotions hit her like a wave. Some of her tears dripping on to the envelope before she could even opening it.
"Fuck man..." Y/n wiped her eyes, sniffling and took a deep breath. As she finally took the paper out of the envelope. It was a handwritten letter. Not only that, but the photo Leroy showed her, the picture of his daughter, and another photo but with a picture of a younger version of himself, his daughter, and what Y/n assumed to be his wife.
He was truly testing her emotions. Scared to see what she would have to read next.
As the letter stated: There is no need for an introduction, you know this is me, Y/n. I'm not lying when I say I've become attached to you. Some would say protective even. Although, I was lying when I said I was waiting for you during that day you found me on your porch steps. I was actually with you when you went to help your friend, Katsumi, get revenge on that other convict Dorian. I was there. Even though I know you aren't my daughter, you still contain the same traits as her, in both personality and beauty. Don't worry, you didn't kill me. When you passed out, I did the rest. I know you are asking, how do I know I am already dead? It's safe to assume that my death was more of a suicide than murder. A few days before my death, I actually reached out to my wife. Told her that I wanted to see Kiara and she told me to not come near her or Kiara. She even told me that Kiara doesn't know who I am. Which is surprising and not surprising. Because I was arrested when Kiara was two years old. But, I was still heart broken knowing that if I went to go see them, my wife wouldn't want to see me, and Kiara wouldn't know who I am. I was so close to....nevermind. I just felt as if you were going to make me feel better. So I plan to go see you and fight you once more. And once I successfully make you pass out, I plan to...you get the point, I am dying tonight. Whether I regret or not, I feel as if the whole point I escaped prison was dragged out of my arms forcefully. I miss Kiara. I miss my wife. So don't beat yourself over this, live your life, Y/n. Love you.
Signed by Leroy himself. Y/n could barely read the end as her visible began to blur and tears fell out on to the paper. As she began to cry. An ugly cry. She felt that letter stab her in the heart.
Y/n had been so distracted that she didn't even notice Kureha enter the room. Pausing at the door as he slowly entered the room and quietly entered, closing the door behind him. So when Y/n did noticed Kureha, she quickly wiped her tears and sniffled like she did earlier.
"Sorry." Kureha commented. Walking up to the bed slowly, a clipboard in his hand. "It's safe to say that you are welcome to leave the hospital. The bill will come in the mail." Kureha explained as he looked at the clipboard. This was supposed to be good news but Y/n felt as if she wouldn't be able to relax anymore.
"Okay..." Y/n nodded, fidgeting with the blanket that covered her legs. As she jumped when she felt Kureha hug her gently. It was a small hug, but it definitely lightened her mood.
"See you whenever, Y/n, lighten up." Kureha added as she moved away from the hug. Lifting his hand to her cheek and wiped a tear that fell out. Before smiling warmly and left the room.

Hours later, Y/n got Mr. Shibukawa to get her some new clothes. Along with picking her up and taking her home. Y/n surprisingly kept the letter and the photos. As she even showed to it Mr. Shibukawa.
Y/n was just happy to know she didn't kill Leroy.
