~Chapter 21~

"SCARLET?!?"

Before I can mumble another word
and embrace her, she turns around and runs away. In the blink of an eye, she's gone...

--- Scarlet's POV ---

They all looked shocked to see me. What if they were mad?

I never called them. I never told them what happened to me. They could of thought I was dead. Or even kidnapped again...

This is to awkward. I don't even wait for them to yell at me for my thoughtlessness. I turn around and run. I don't know where. I just run.

As soon as I see one of my favorite parks, I slow down and walk towards it.

I sit at a vacant bench by the goldfish pond.

It wasn't my fault I couldn't call them! As soon as 'mom' saw the phone they gave me, she 'accidentally' broke it and flushed the pieces. She didn't even get me a new phone. And I'm not aloud to touch hers.

Plus, I didn't memorize there numbers, so even if I was able to sneak on her phone, my contacts were all on my phone.

I probably shouldn't of ran away. I should've stayed and explained myself.

I get up, and start walking towards where I last saw them, hoping they would still be there.

Just my luck. They left.

God, I'm so stupid. Why did I run? Maybe they wouldn't of been mad if I explained myself.....

"Scarlet!!" Someone yells from behind me. I turn around hoping its one of the guys. But I am left to face the beautiful grey eyes of Drew.

"Oh, hey.." I mumble awkwardly still upset I didn't say anythings to those 5 idiots I miss so much.

His facial expression changes from happy to a hint concern. "What's wrong? Are you upset that I'm late? I'm so sorry about that. This sick little weenie dog with a broken back leg came scratching at my door. I tried to help it out. I brought it to the vet. They were more packed than I thought. I gotta go pick him up in a bit." He rambled, then looked at his watch. He looks up at me, smiles, and continues. "You can come too if you want. I was thinking after we drop him off at my house, we could go to the carnival." He finished, ending with his award winning smile that made me want to swoon.

"No, I'm not mad. I was just worried something happened to you." I said, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks. I saw his shoulders relax as I said this. "And I would love to go to the carnival with you."

"Great!" He says excitedly. Just then his phone buzzed. He took it out of his pocket, looked down at it and put it back down. "That's the vets. We better go pick up that dog."

We walk for a bit until we reach his car and drive off.

We were up at the vets for about a half hour. She said that dog was most likely abused. She fixed her leg as best as she could. The dog was also very pregnant. Yes, I said was. She gave birth at the vets to 4 little chiweenie's.

We just dropped off the puppies and the momma at his house. Drew doesn't live very far from the carnival, so I'm not surprised when 2 minutes later we are pulling into the parking lot. He turns off the car, but doesn't unlock the door, or get out. I open my mouth to ask him if he's gonna get out or not, but he cuts me off.

"Listen Scar, I haven't exactly told you something I probably should of. I feel bad for not telling you..... Danny is my cousin." Once the words proceeds through my head, my jaw drops. What? How could someone so nice and caring as Drew be related to such a jackass like Danny? And why didn't he tell me? " The reason why I'm telling you now is because I wanna warn you about him. I told him something and that made him want to ask you back out. Don't do it.... He doesn't care about you as a person like I do. He only likes you for your looks, and he wants to make Emma jealous."
