Author POV
Days passed quickly, and it had been five days since Amelia started attending her university classes again. She even invite her friends over to the mansion, eager to share the thoughtful gifts she had brought for them during her honeymoon. Their laughter filled the grand halls as Amelia handed out the small tokens of her affection, her face glowing with happiness as she caught up with them.
Meanwhile, Edward was immersed in his work, the demands of his company ever-growing. But no matter how busy his schedule became, his priorities never wavered when it came to Amelia. Every evening, he made it a point to return to the mansion, ensuring he spent his nights by her side.
Even with their separate routines, their bond remained unshaken. The quiet moments they shared at night-whether it was a simple dinner with their parents together, her telling him about her day at university, or just fucking each other.
Amelia, too, felt at ease knowing that no matter how late it was, Edward would always come back to her, their love anchoring her in a way she had never felt before.
Also during this time, Amelia received a text from the same unknown helper. Her heart raced as she read the message:
"I've destroyed the CCTV footage and all the photos Maya and Nick had planned to use against you."
Amelia froze, her mind reeling with shock and relief. It didn't take her long to realize who the mysterious helper was, Jenna. Despite their rocky relationship and constant comparisons drawn by Aunt Maya, Jenna had done something completely unexpected.
Before Amelia could even think of responding, she tried calling the number, but it didn't go through. Confused, she checked her phone again and realized Jenna had blocked her.
Amelia sat down, her emotions a mix of gratitude and bewilderment. Why would Jenna help her? Was it guilt? A sense of justice? Or perhaps, somewhere deep down, Jenna wanted to rebel against the toxic influence of her mother?
She sighed, holding her phone tightly, knowing she might never get the answers. But one thing was certain Jenna's actions had saved her from a storm she hadn't even seen coming.
At the university, Amelia's days were peaceful but busy. She often shared casual conversations with Rafael, who had become a friendly presence in her routine. Their chats were lighthearted and friendly, offering Amelia a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of her past.
Meanwhile, Richard spotted Amelia for the first time since her marriage. He doesn't attend in any events or social activities much after Amelia got married. Seeing her again stirred something within him. His eyes lingered on her, unable to look away. Though he had moved on with another girlfriend after Jenna, the relationship was shallow, just a mere distraction. Deep down, he still couldn't let go of his feelings for Amelia.
But Richard's obsession was never about love. It was a toxic mixture of lust and possessiveness, and it burned even brighter now that she seemed completely out of reach. He found himself trying to approach her, attempting to strike up a conversation or rekindle a connection.
Amelia, however, remained unbothered. She didn't spare him or anyone else in the university, a second glance. Her focus was solely on her studies and the time she spent with Kelly and Henry, her trusted friends. For her, the past was firmly behind her, and her present was filled with purpose and quiet joy.
Richard's attempts to gain her attention only made his frustration grow. Watching her laugh with Kelly and Henry, entirely oblivious to his presence, felt like a dagger to his pride. He clenched his fists, his mind swirling with thoughts he couldn't control, but he knew one thing that Amelia was no longer someone he could ever have, and that truth infuriated him.
