"Agh! Damn!"
Jack heard the cry of his love from his upstairs study. Running as quickly as possible, he made every twist and turn down the hallway, hopping over the banister of the staircase and heading for the kitchen.
splicers? A break in?!
Jack thought. His theory drove him to run faster. As he entered the kitchen he found Elizabeth hunched over clutching her stomach.
"Elizabeth, where are th--"
To Jack's surprise, there were no splicers or villains to be found.
"...intruders."
He said clearing his throat.
Elizabeth stood up straighter and chuckled.
"The perpetrator is right her."
She said holding up a knife and setting it on the counter, splattering a small amount of blood as it hit the wood. Jack ran over to her immediately.
"What happened? Did someone hurt you?"
"No, no. I was um... Careless when cutting up some vegetables. I left the knife on the side of the counter and when i passed by it, it uh... Nicked me in the side."
She explained nervously.
Jack laughed a little before carefully swooping her up bridal style, drawing a hiss from her mouth, to which Jack apologized a million times.
"How's about you leave the vegetables to me for the evening, alright?"
Jack suggested as he lead her up the stairs to the bathroom where the health kits were. In response, Elizabeth threw her arms up slightly before folding them across her chest. She huffed once or twice, signaling Jack she was flustered. Elizabeth had been shot before, traveled through dimensions, fell from thousands of stories high, but he made her surrender to a slight jab in the side. Typical.
When they reached the bathroom, Jack propped her up onto the counter and went rummaging through a kit for some bandages and rubbing alcohol. When he had found them, he cleared his throat and shot Elizabeth a seductive glance.
"Now... Take off your shirt."
"whAt--oh. Oh yeah. That's where i got stabbed... That makes sense."
Elizabeth felt her face blush and mentally cursed herself for sounding like such an idiot. She slowly began to unbutton and remove her shirt, revealing her brazier. It's nothing Jack hadn't seen a million times. But Elizabeth was always worried when it came to her appearance. Jack examined her tapping a finger to his chin and narrowing his gaze.
"...are you sure you weren't also injured at the hip? If so, the skirt will need to come off immediately."
Without a second thought, Liz threw her shirt at Jack's face, covering his head completely.
"Don't push it."
She said with a sarcastic grin on her face, but deep down, all of Jack's little comments made her melt.
"But seriously, i'm going to need you to lay down."
Elizabeth shot Jack a look that said "bullshit" before realizing that he needed to pour alcohol on the wound. She blushed once again. Dammit, Elizabeth. Get your mind out of the gutter!... Well, in all fairness, he is actually making passes at me half of the time.
Elizabeth hopped off of the counter, causing a hiss to escape her gritted teeth as she had disturbed her wound. They went into the living area where she could lay on the couch, and Elizabeth comfortably assumed her position. She braced herself for the pain she was about to experience but then something unexpected happened. As she closed her eyes and clenched her teeth, she felt a shadow come over her,
"Now i've got you where i want you..."
Jack said devilishly. Immediately, Elizabeth felt Jack's lips pressed against her. She was taken aback by his trickery and thought to herself i knew it i knew i knew it! But she didn't put up much of a fight. She longed for Jack's kisses and the senses they gave her. It was that soft, warm, familiarity. That closeness she always desired... Then, searing pain. Jack had used the distraction to pour Alcohol on the wound. Elizabeth's body jolted at the sudden surge of pain and she and Jack accidentally butted heads.
"Jesus, Jack! Give me a heads up next time, will you?"
Elizabeth grumbled rubbing her forehead. Jack simply chuckled and stooped down once more to give her a peck just above her eyes where the new injury was.
"Sorry Love, i didn't mean to hurt you. Maybe you should be more careful next time."
A playful smirk formed on his lips, and Elizabeth raised a brow.
"Oh, so this is my fault now?"
She beckoned, pulling him by the collar of his sweater.
"...i'd smack you if my side wasn't split open, New York."
"Guess it's not your lucky day, huh Columbia?"
With that, Elizabeth reluctantly let go and sat up on the couch, allowing Jack to gather some gauges and begin to bandage her stomach. Lifting her arms, Jack slowly layered the wound tightly, causing Elizabeth to curse and mumble to herself. Every hiss from her drew an apology from Jack which she would answer with a weak spirited "i'm okay". That was Elizabeth, always the strong one.
"Well, Ms. Elizabeth, i think you'll survive."
Jack said still squatting on the floor, holding her waist where the bandages were, yet avoiding the wound directly.
"Really?"
"....no. I lied. You've only got a few hours left to live. Any last wishes?"
Elizabeth chuckled lightly as she wrapped her arms around Jack's neck. Ever so slowly so as to not hurt herself- she drew in closer to Jack as her head found comfort in the crook of his neck.
"I have a few ideas."
She whispered as she left love pecks across his shoulder. Jack held her steady at the hips and replied,
"Well, let's get to it then."
