Water streamed down, washing away the stress from your long day at work. You glanced down at your small baby bump and small smile made its way onto your lips. You and Louis had been trying to have a baby for so long and it had finally happened. You had just told all the boys the night before and they were ecstatic, all of them bringing by baby clothes and toys and discussing what it would be like to be an uncle. You turned off the water and exited the shower along with a rush of steam. You were wrapping up in a towel when you heard Louis enter your house downstairs. He called your name and you responded, "Up here Lou!" You yelled, taking another towel and drying your hair. Louis's smiling face popped into the bathroom and he kissed you on the cheek. "Hey babe-" You started but stopped suddenly and gripped the counter. All of a sudden it felt like a knife was being pushed into your lower abdomen. You wrapped an arm around your stomach and clenched your teeth. Louis quickly came to your side but before he could ask what was wrong he noticed the blood spotting the white tile floor. Tears clouded his vision as he looked up at you, "(Y/N)...you're bleeding" You couldn't even look, you knew what it meant and you sunk to the floor, still holding your barely pregnant, and now not at all, belly. "Oh god" You whispered sobbing. Louis let out a scream and slammed his fist into the counter. "GOD DAMMIT!" He screamed and then he collapsed, head in his hands, tears flowing quickly. You watched his outburst as your own tears cascaded down. "Lou I-I'm so sorry" He quickly scooted towards you and wrapped you in a tight hug. "No, no this is not your fault" He then cupped your face in his hands and forced you to look at him "It. Is. Not. Your. Fault." You nodded slightly and he helped you up. Your eyes caught sight of the blood and you felt your whole body constrict. Louis gripped your arm and forced you to turn away. "Don't" He said quietly, leading you out of the bathroom. He got you cleaned up and into a pair of pajamas, he put more towels down in case you kept bleeding and he tucked you in. He slipped into bed beside you, your foreheads touching, his arms wrapped protectively around you. Both of you were crying but Louis was trying so hard to be brave for you. "I love you so much (Y/N), and I know we both would have loved this baby, and I'm so sad that I never got to meet it, or hold it. But I also know that we're going to have kids some day, and we're going to be the best damn parents in the world and we will love that baby more than anything. We'll get through this."
