Oceanus POV
My sisters are so stupid. Look at them. Dribbling and making odd noises. I guess everyone was sleeping. I rolled over and saw the Woman that is my mother. On the other side of her was my Aunt Sonja. I hear Sequoia and Archer sleeping. It is dark so I better to the same. I fall into slumber but a woman in a white robe with a tiara on her head comes to me in my sleep.
"Oceanus."
"What? Who is that?"
"Oceanus, I am your late grandmother. I am here to tell you about yourself. You are not like your sisters or cousins. You are different and people can't understand you. Your father is the Champion of Dianite, your mother is the Daughter of Mianite and myself. You have an ability. You can send messages telepathically to those you care about. Be strong like the waves, learn from the dolphins and most of all, follow your heart."
She disappeared. What did she mean? Be strong like the waves? Learn from the dolphins? Follow your heart? My mother woke up, I have a mother but do I have a father? She walked over to a picture of a man with brown hair and a scruffy beard. He had deep brown eyes that somehow looked familiar. She started crying. That person was special to her, maybe her brother, a family member or even my father. I would like to meet my father. I used my ability to send a message to my mother. I asked her who that man was.
"Mother, who is that man?"
She whipped her hair around and looked at me.
"Oceanus?"
I had to send her messages because I couldn't talk.
"Yes mother it was me."
She took me in her arms and she started telling me about the man in the picture.
Emily POV
Oceanus was talking to me. I knew he was special.
"The man in the picture is your father. We were supposed to be married, but we had to put it off because of an... Incident. He loves you very much and can't wait to see you."
"Where is he?"
"He left just a few months before you were born with your uncle Jordan and uncle Tucker. He is in Dagrun, a far away realm."
"When will he return?"
"In about nine and a half years."
Then I remembered. Tom might not come back. No, he will. He has to and he will.
