The night passed in a haze of tangled thoughts, but the new day brought with it a fresh wave of anticipation. Y/N stirred awake first, her mind already buzzing with the plans for the day. She moved quietly, not wanting to disturb Taehyung, and prepared herself for the morning.

Taehyung, however, didn’t need long to get ready. Being the boss meant he didn’t have to answer to anyone, and today, he had decided to put his responsibilities on hold. He slipped into a perfectly tailored suit, the fabric hugging his frame in all the right places. The tie was neatly knotted, and his polished shoes glinted in the morning light.

As he descended the staircase with his usual commanding aura, his eyes instinctively scanned the room—and then they landed on her.

Y/N stood near the doorway, adjusting the folds of her simple yet elegant dress. The soft pastel fabric flowed gracefully, highlighting her natural beauty. She hadn’t tried to dazzle anyone; her look was understated, effortless, and somehow far more captivating than anything extravagant.

Taehyung’s steps faltered for a brief moment, his eyes lingering on her longer than he intended. How does she manage to look so... radiant? he thought, an unfamiliar warmth spreading through his chest.

Y/N glanced up and caught his gaze, offering him a small, nervous smile. “Good morning, Mr. Kim,” she greeted softly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

He cleared his throat, masking the flicker of admiration in his eyes with a practiced indifference. “Good morning, Mrs. Kim,” he replied coolly, though his voice lacked its usual edge.

“You look... ready,” she said hesitantly, noting the sharpness of his attire.

Taehyung smirked faintly, adjusting his cufflinks. “And you look...” He paused, his gaze flickering over her once more. “Presentable.”

Y/N blinked, her cheeks heating at the subtle compliment buried in his words. “Thank you, Mr. Kim,” she murmured, unsure how to respond.

He simply nodded, his expression unreadable as he moved past her. “Let’s get going. We don’t want to keep anyone waiting,” he said, though his tone carried an underlying calmness that betrayed his usual cold demeanor.

As they stepped outside together, Taehyung couldn’t help but steal one more glance at her, the sunlight catching her features just right. He quickly looked away, reminding himself of the day ahead and the questions that still loomed in his mind.

What exactly are we walking into? he wondered, though another part of him couldn’t stop thinking about how, for once, he didn’t entirely mind walking into the unknown with her by his side.

Taehyung and Y/N settled into the car, the hum of the engine breaking the stillness of the morning. He rested one hand on the steering wheel, the other on the gear shift, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.

The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, but it carried an invisible weight—one neither dared to address.

Taehyung’s mind wandered, circling back to the contract that had bound them together.

Why does it keep bothering me lately? he wondered, his grip tightening on the wheel. This is just a deal, nothing more. Then why... why does it feel different when she’s around?

Y/N sat quietly beside him, her delicate fingers tracing invisible patterns on her lap. She wasn’t sure what was on his mind, but she could sense the subtle shift in his demeanor.
