never enough.

they used to look at me and think,

that girl will go places.

now they look at me and smirk,

with their brave faces.

because what I realized

is that when you grow up

you're defied.

never enough.

it may be your looks

on your way to Hollywood

but then again, it may be the books

how you would see that test and it'd be good.

but now,

oh, the present

it asks you, "how?

how did you ruin all of those lessons?"

and wherever you go

and whatever you do

just make sure you know

hope won't always stay true.
