Black Lead Heart

The mermaids claw at her heels,
As she swims with the seals,
A crown of flowers sewn to her head,
A heart of stone tucked under her shirt the color of black lead,
She was done with love and warmth,
So she headed the opposite way of north,
To swim with seals,
But the mermaids clawed at her heels,
And took her to the watery depths below,
She's drowned since a long time ago,
That was in the past,
Now it's at long last,
She doesn't care what they think of her,
Now she's just a blur,
Along with the rest of her black lead heart,
Her face turns to art along with the rest of the sea's art.
