New story! Yay! I say this about every story but I am REALLY excited for this story! Hope you enjoy! The photo is of Drew Roy, who plays Jason in this story. Look at that face! Look at those arms! The thirst is real... Sorry bout it.
POV: Jason
Every day after school, my friends and I go work out/hang out at the gym. We all have our off periods together, so we help each other with homework and always manage to get it done the day it's assigned. We may look and (sometimes) act like stupid jocks, but all of us are straight A students.
My friend group consists of five people: Me (Jason McDonald), my wing man Cody Howard, Ayden Landon, Paul Gilmer, and Stephen Bell. Like I mentioned earlier, we all look tough and douchey, but all of us are really nice guys. None of us are bullies, racists, or homophobes (as far as I know). I haven't had the chance to figure out if my four companions are homophobic yet because I've been busy realizing my own sexuality. I'm gay.
There, I said it. I've denied it to myself for far too long, and now I can honestly say that I am an (not so) out and (terrified but trying to be) proud homosexual. Every time I think of telling my friends, my heart rate speeds up and I feel my cheeks flush. Fear of what my friends could say takes over my mind and that's all I can think about until...
"Jason!" Paul yells in my face, bringing me back to real life. I look around me at the nearly deserted gym, where only my squad and a few other people are working out. It's a Wednesday evening, so it's not very crowded. "If you're just gonna zone out all the time, I don't want you spotting me while I do bench presses." I shake my head as if that will clear the thoughts that overtook me just a few seconds ago.
"Sorry, just lost focus for a second," I reply sheepishly as I help my friend finish his set. After all of us have finished our workouts, we sit at a tiny cafe at the entrance of the gym, drinking protein shakes and eating various nutrition bars. Since we do this every school day, all the gym employees know us and most of the female workers try to flirt with us. The other four guys love it. Me, not so much.
In fact, the employee tending to the cafe, Marissa, is talking to the guys about how hot big muscles are right now. Pretending to be interested, I rest my chin in my hand while my friends flex like idiots to impress her. I find it funny how far guys will go just to get the attention of a pretty girl. I wonder if I'll ever be in that situation with a guy. It's not likely, but it's nice to think that someday I'll be willing to do whatever it takes to make a guy happy. I hear the locker room door open and lazily turn to see who it is.
My breath catches in my throat and I sit up straight as I watch a beautiful boy walk to a treadmill and get on, wearing earbuds in his ears. He looks about my age, but I've never seen him around my school, so he probably attends the only other high school in our district. He has a beanie on that covers the majority of his brown hair, but some of it sticks out at the front. From the looks of it, he has pretty slim build, but the muscle definition in his arms and legs tells me that something more is hiding beneath that dark blue t-shirt...
I'm suddenly broken out of my lustful trance when Marissa decides that she needs five guys vying for her attention rather than just four. "What about you, Jason? How big are your guns?" She's a petite brunette with a bubbly personality and a very melodic voice, but right now it just aggravates me.
"Oh, I don't really have anything to show," I lie. Not to toot my own horn, but my body is something a lot of people would kill for. "I'm pretty sure Ayden has the biggest arms out of all of us." The other three start comparing their arms to Ayden's while Marissa giggles, so I turn my attention back to the boy on the treadmill.
He looks so graceful as he runs on the treadmill, and I can't help but admire his fluid motions. All I want is to go talk to him, but that would probably freak both him and my friends out. Besides, I don't even know if he likes guys. That's the main issue nowadays, isn't it: You never know for sure if someone is gay, which is probably the main cause of Grindr's success.
