Chapter 2 – Second Chances

The next morning Adonis found himself waking in an all too familiar setting. This time he didn't even attempt to remember his partner's name, he just kicked her out with a simple goodbye and a door slam. After yesterdays' Moe's fiasco, Apollo treated his brother to a few drinks and now Adonis was loathing the after effects.

After locking the door behind the girl he just kicked out, Adonis strolled to his bathroom to get ready for the day. He showered, took care of his hygiene and strolled into his closet. He decided on a pair of red acid washed pants, a red long sleeved crew neck, with a pair of all red Louboutin's. Glancing at the time on his iPhone, he noticed it was 8:55 a.m. There was no way he was going to make it across campus to his Microeconomics class on time. Grabbing a Nutrigrain bar and a bottle of water off the counter, Adonis rushed out the door.

Despite all his efforts, Adonis didn't make it to class on time. He turned the door knob of his classroom door to find it locked. Sighing, he knocked on the door twice. Professor White noticed him standing outside the door and waved.

"So you really gone leave me out here?" Adonis yelled loud enough to be heard through the door.

Professor White nodded. "Yeah! If you can be a minute late, you can be a minute early!" he yelled back.

"F*ck it then," he mumbled while turning away. There wasn't any way he was going to walk all the way back to his apartment, so he decided to head for the café. He was sure people were still in there finishing up breakfast and he was bound to run into someone he knew.

As soon as Adonis stepped inside the café, he noticed his good friend Chance. Walking over to him, Adonis pulled out the chair in front of Chance and sat down.

"What's good man?" he asked, dapping his friend up.

Chance returned the handshake and shook his head. "Nothing much bruh, just in here enjoying this good ass breakfast and these beautiful ass women."

Adonis laughed at his friend's foolishness.

"I hear you bro." He took a moment to glance around the café. He didn't see many familiar faces, but he did see a few females he'd slept with a few times. Deciding he didn't want to bring attention to himself, he turned back toward Chance.

"So what you doing in here anyway? Don't you got class?" Chance asked with a mouth full of bacon.

Adonis scrunched his face up in disgust. "Chew with your mouth closed man. But, seriously Professor White b*tch ass kicked me out for being a minute late."

Chance burst into laughter, not bothering to finish chewing his bacon. "Damn son, a whole minute?"

"Hell yeah, a whole minute. F*ck that nigga tho, I bet I still pass that class." Adonis smirked.

"Yeah cause you gone pay his ass for an A." Chance laughed while taking a sip of his orange juice.

It was true. Whenever Adonis felt like he was going to fail a class, he paid his professors off. In his eyes, his degree was just a bunch of bullshit. He was the oldest son, and Zeus Sterling had already promised the family business to him once he finished college. School was just a waste of time to Adonis.

"I'm glad you know bruh. But check it I'm bout to go a plate, yo food lookin' good as hell over there." Adonis said with his mouth watering. The bacon, waffles, fruit, and grits on Chances' plate had his stomach growling. He didn't even get a chance to eat his breakfast bar considering the fact that he planned to eat it in class and Professor White locked him out.
