I go home with this lady who introduced herself as Ruby Lavender.
She shows me to my room, with a connecting room. I enter it and my baby boy lays in a crib sound asleep. When I return to the main room, my room, there's a boy looking at my photo. The one of me as a baby with my brother and dog.
"Hey! Leave that alone!" As a girl that's spent over half her life on the street, I can fight when I need to.
The boy doesn't move so I walk over and stand by the dresser.
"I said to leave that alone. You have no right to touch or wonder about what isn't yours." I say.
He sets down the picture and I basically push him out of my room. I can't deal with boys sense Adam. It's not boys individually, just as a whole.
That night I get woke up by the boy in my room again.
"Get out will Ya?!"
Ruby walks into the room.
"Lucas! Your father and I told you to stay away until she warms up to us. She won't talk to anyone so no one knows what she's been through. Get out and stay out!" She says. Keeping volume low, trying not to wake up Caden.
