Keona was normal. She had a good group of friends, An older brother and a young set of twin sisters. Her mom and dad were happily married and loved each other dearly. That was until they found out that her mother had Pancreatic carcinoma . Otherwise known as cancer of the pancreas
Her father was devastated and so was everybody else in the family. The twins had barely been 2 when she had passed and I was 19 just getting out of high school.
My family barely communicated unless it was a yes or no question 2 years after my father had passed away in a car crash.
That all was 5 years ago and I was 24 while Rhione and Kiera were both 7. They fully understood that we didn't have a mother and father.
I worked, went to school and then went to another job. I was barely paying of bills and the landlord had been getting angry. This made me push myself harder because I couldn't get kicked out of this house.
I had friends believe it or not. There was Valerie, Avery, Fiona and Gabriela. Valerie was 19 and babysat for the girls. We got close since she was here so much and she didn't mind the low pay.
Avery I had meant at highschool we had clicked and were still talking she was also 24. Avery was always cheery and couldn't help be embarrassed once in the spotlight.
Fiona was one of my co-workers at a restaraunt. She was 23 and loved exercising and staying fit. She also loved planting different types of flowers.
Lastly was Gabriela. She loved singing and couldn't ever stop moving. Mostly she love showing people new songs. She was 22 and hated being alone.
As for me though I had long black hair and green eyes. I loved reading and could never not be crazy as a kid. Now I had to be serious a lot being at work and all. The girls always made fun of me saying I needed to light up. I couldn't though I had all of this weight in my shoulders and I felt like I was suffocating.
God how, I would love for it to be off my shoulders and down into a drain.
Right now I was geting into my 1967 Black Impala. Most people would look at it in distaste but this car had helped me through alot so I absolutley adored it.
My bag was atleast a good 5 punds because of all the books I had stuffed into it from school. College was absolutley devastating when you had to do all the homework. Other than that you could easily have alot of fun if you didn't push your luck with the professors.
After putting the bag into the passengers seat, I started up the car and drove home. Rhione and Kiera would have to eat and I would have to get Rob up for his night shift at work.
Even though Rob didn't make much at his Mcdonalds job he always offered to help out with the bills. Usually I would tell him to save it up for a car that wouldn't break down every time you tryed to turn it on or maybe some new clothes so he can pitch out all of his old ones that have basically grown on him.
Other times I would let him help out because of the fact that we were running low on the money for the bills.
The 15 minute drive from College to Home I was grateful for especially since the price of gas has sky rocketed. As soon as I pulled into the Driveway I saw Rhione and Kiera messing around outside and trying to do flips and kartwheels.
" Wow look at the little Cheerleaders." I said to them leaning onto the door of my car
" Look Keke, we taught ourselves how do this." Rhione exclaimed
Both of the girls looked at each other and went to opposite sides of the small lawn. Both of them went running at top speed and once they reched the middle they both did a kartwheel. After they were done they were looking at me.
I clapped my hands together and cheered for them. " You guys did so good" I exclaimed as they both came running towards me. Each took a hand of mine and strted dragging me towards the house.
" We have something for you." They each said
"You have to cover your eyes or else it won't be a surprise anymore" Kiera whispered to me. I nodded and shut my eyes. After a bit of shuffling around they girls yelled "Now you can open them!"
Once I opened them I laughed as I saw a picture of one of the Disney princess's all colored in with a mix of colors. Most were all just scribbled out of the lines but I didn't care.
I looked at the clock and cursed in my mind. I was going to be late for work if I didn't leave right now.
" Well girls I better get going, Tell Rob to make you girls some Chicken Alfredo for Dinner. I may not be home in time." I kissed each of them on the cheeks and yelled "Bye Robbie Boy" Before heading out the door.
To bad I had no Idea who I was going to be meeting today.
