"Your Majesty. I'm sorry to interrupt. I found a letter lying around in the palace gardens that is addressed to you. It seems to be very important," announced a royal guard. He looked like he had just run a marathon. His face was sweaty and his clothes were messy. He handed an envelope to the king, who was, at the moment, having dinner with his beloved daughter.
The king was a known as a wise man. He had fought fierce battles before in his time and he had never lost. There had been no conflict in the kingdom due to his government.
The king, despite his age, looked youthful. He had bright, auburn hair and a charming face. His gentle manner made him even more attractive.
The princess, much like her father, had long, lovely chocolate-colored hair. She had a pretty face, which was what kind of made her famous throughout the land. They had stopped eating when the guard entered the room.
The king took the envelope cautiously and saw a red seal. It was a code for urgent means. There were three official seals used as codes in Aldenwald Kingdom - red for crucial requirements, blue for personal business, and green for other matters. He read it and expressed a nervous look. He got up and went out of the room without a word, the letter in his hand.
The princess didn't feel like eating anymore. She stood up and prepared to leave. "Sylvia, prepare my bath please. I'm done eating," the princess said to her personal maid.
After she had done showering, she went straight to her bedroom, preparing to sleep. A cat lazily lied down on the princess' bed. The princess sat beside the feline and stroked its white, fluffy hair with her fingers. The cat purred gratifyingly while the princess scratched behind her ear.
"Oh, Cherry," the princess sighed. "I wonder what's on the letter. It made Father really worried." After a while, she stopped brushing the cat, yawned and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, the whole castle bolted right up to the huge racket outside.
"Wilson, what is that noise?" the king, hair mussed from sleeping, asked a butler who was cleaning the king's shelf full of books. "Are the people in danger?"
Wilson looked out the king's bedroom window and frowned. He sighed. "I'm afraid so, sire."
The king got out of bed and saw what Wilson meant by that. His eyes almost bulged out from their sockets. He couldn't believe what he saw.
It was pandemonium. People were screaming and shouting everywhere. Their eyes shone with fear. Some of them pointed upward. Others, who followed and looked up, screamed in shock. The king had no idea what was going on. He tried to look up to the sky, but his sight got blocked by the roof above.
Suddenly, a burst of red hot flame went down from the sky. A few houses went ablaze. People panicked even more. They scurried to save their children and belongings from the fire.
The princess, who also had just woken, hastily went out to the palace garden, still in her soft blue nightdress, to see what was causing the commotion. She even forgot to put on footwear. She looked up, and once she did, she wished she hadn't.
There it was. The creature. It was gigantic. It had wings like a bat's, four claws on each of its four feet, and a tail longer than an adult crocodile's. It was colored black from head to toe. Its right eye was golden with a thin strap of black iris. Its other eye was crimson with no iris at all.
