A Room of Unease

The tension in the room was palpable.

Skully and Frosty sat stiffly on the plush, oversized couch, their gazes nervously flicking between each other and Beatrice. She lounged casually in the armchair, idly scrolling through her GrimoPhone, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips.

Rookie perched awkwardly on the armrest, clutching a half-eaten cookie, visibly unsettled by the quiet.

Curious Conversation

Skully tugged at his tie, his skeletal frame shifting uncomfortably.

"So, uh... you seem pretty into your, uh, magic tricks," he said hesitantly.

Beatrice glanced up briefly, the smirk widening.

"Oh, you know, a little illusion here, a little conjuring there. Keeps things lively."

The Show Begins

Frosty raised an icy brow, his frosted submachine gun resting carefully by his side.

"Illusions, huh? How lively are we talking?"

Beatrice grinned.

With a flick of her finger across the GrimoPhone, the screen shimmered.

A dazzling display of colorful lights filled the room.

The lights swirled and danced, forming intricate patterns that morphed into animals—fluffy rabbits, a noble lion, and even a tiny dragon that playfully circled Rookie before dissolving into sparkles.

Amusement and Apprehension

Rookie clapped his cookie hands, the chocolate chips on his face lighting up with delight.

"That's amazing! Can you do another?"

"Sure thing," Beatrice said with a wink.

With another swipe, she conjured a magical feast.

Plates of food appeared in midair—steaming pies, colorful cupcakes, and golden-brown loaves of bread. The smells wafted through the room, causing Skully and Frosty to lean in despite themselves.

"None of it's real, right?" Frosty asked, trying to sound indifferent but failing to hide his curiosity.

Beatrice picked up a cupcake and took a big bite, crumbs spilling everywhere.

"Totally real—well, real enough to taste good," she said with her mouth full. "Want to try?"

A Magical Companion

Rookie reached out eagerly, but Frosty held up a hand.

"Let's see what happens first."

Beatrice grinned mischievously and snapped her fingers again.

A tiny hamburger with arms and legs appeared, hopping around the table.

"Say hi to Bunsy," she said cheerfully.

Skully leaned back, his bony jaw dropping.

"It moves?"

"Relax," Beatrice said, tapping her GrimoPhone again.

The little burger gave a cheerful wave before vanishing in a puff of sparkles.

"Just a bit of fun."

Processing Chaos

The trio exchanged uneasy glances, unsure whether to laugh or remain cautious.

Frosty finally muttered, "You're having way too much fun messing with us."

"Of course, I am," Beatrice said with a playful shrug.

"Life's too short to be serious all the time."

She stood and stretched, heading toward the kitchen with a casual wave.

"Alright, I'll make something real this time. You guys stay put."

Lingering Thoughts

As her footsteps echoed down the hallway, the trio sat in stunned silence.

Rookie finally spoke, his cookie hand still clutching his snack.

"I thought I was getting used to her... but nope."

"At least the rain keeps us hidden from Arcana," Skully muttered, glancing at the window.

The eerie red rain outside streaked down the glass like crimson veins.

"No point stopping it now."

"Yeah, about that..." Frosty said, gesturing toward the kitchen.

"Do we really trust her to cook?"

Rookie shrugged, his chocolate chips shifting uncertainly.

"I mean, her food's probably the least scary thing about her."

The three fell quiet, each pondering the whirlwind of chaos that was Beatrice, as faint humming drifted from the kitchen.
