(𝗍һіs іs һᥱr ᑲᥱ𝖿᥆rᥱ rᥱіᥒᥴᥲrᥒᥲ𝗍і᥆ᥒ)The sound of screeching tires filled her ears. Time seemed to slow as the truck barreled toward her, unstoppable. Her body froze, and in those final moments, her mind screamed:
Is this it? Is this how I die?
Her heart clenched painfully as fleeting images of her parents flashed before her eyes. Their warm smiles, the sound of their laughter, the way they used to hold her close-it all came rushing back, sharp and vivid, like a cruel reminder of everything she had lost.
Mom... Dad... Why did you leave me so early?
Tears burned at the corners of her eyes as the overwhelming ache of abandonment consumed her. Was it something I did? Did I deserve this?
Her chest tightened, her thoughts spiraling into a void of despair. Why did life have to be so unfair?
Her vision blurred, and as the impact loomed closer, she shut her eyes tight, bracing herself for the inevitable. Her lips parted in a whisper only the universe could hear:
"I don't want to die."
Silence.
She waited for pain, for the cold embrace of death to claim her. But instead, there was nothing. No pain, no impact-just an eerie stillness that seemed to stretch endlessly.
Her eyelids fluttered open, and she gasped. The world was gone. In its place was an endless, suffocating void-dark and unyielding. She could see nothing, hear nothing. Only the sound of her own frantic breaths broke the oppressive silence.
What's happening? Why can I still think?
She turned her head, but there was nothing to see. Her heart pounded in her chest. Am I... dead?
Her voice trembled as she whispered into the emptiness, "Where am I? Is this what happens after we die?"
Before she could spiral further into panic, a deep, resonant voice broke through the void.
"Not quite, child."
She spun around, her eyes wide as they landed on a figure materializing before her. The being was faceless, a shimmering form cloaked in blinding white light. Its presence radiated power, and yet there was an odd warmth to it.
"Who... who are you?" she stammered, fear lacing her voice. "What's going on? Why am I still here?"
The being regarded her calmly. "I am what you might call God," it said simply.
Her breath hitched, disbelief flashing across her face. "God? You're telling me I'm dead, and now I'm talking to God?"
"Yes and no," the being replied. "You have died in your world, but your journey is far from over. I have chosen you."
She laughed bitterly, tears streaming down her face. "Chosen me? For what? I was no one. Just a girl who barely managed to hold her life together. Why would you choose me?"
The being's voice softened, as though it understood her pain. "Because even in your darkest moments, you never gave up. That resilience is rare, child. And now, I offer you a second chance-a new life, one filled with purpose."
She clenched her fists, her voice trembling with anger and sorrow. "I didn't ask for this! I didn't ask to lose my parents, to feel so alone! I didn't ask to die!"
The void seemed to echo with the rawness of her emotions. The being remained still, letting her pour out her grief.
When her sobs finally subsided, it spoke again. "I know the pain you carry. And I cannot erase it. But I can give you a new beginning-one where you can forge your own path, find happiness, and make a difference."
Her voice was barely a whisper. "How?"
"You will be reborn," the being explained. "Into a world of magic and wonder, of heroes and villains-a world where you can become something extraordinary."
Her brow furrowed as she tried to process the words. "A world of magic? You mean like... Harry Potter?"
The being nodded. "Yes, and more. You will not only enter the Harry Potter universe, but also another-one filled with heroes who protect the world and villains who seek to destroy it. The world of the Avengers."
Her breath caught in her throat. "Wait, so... I'm going to be in a crossover between Harry Potter and the Avengers?"
"Indeed," the being said, a glimmer of amusement in its tone. "But this will not be easy. The choices you make will shape the fate of both worlds. Are you ready to take this chance?"
Her chest felt heavy, her emotions a whirlwind of fear, anger, and the tiniest spark of hope. She wiped her tears away, straightened her posture, and met the being's gaze.
"If I take this chance... if I live again... will I still feel like myself?"
The being's voice was gentle. "You will always be yourself, child. But now, you have the chance to become even more."
She closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. When she opened them again, her resolve was clear.
"Alright," she said. "I'll do it. But don't expect me to just blindly trust you."
The being's form began to fade, its voice lingering in the void. "You'll see in time. Good luck, child. Your journey begins now."
And just like that, the void collapsed into light. She felt herself falling, her body weightless, her mind filled with a single, aching thought:
This is my second chance. I won't waste it.
