"Actually, can you Just.. go away for a little.." you mumbled as you batted the air, still trying to wrap your mind around the news that was spilled to you, "I need to think this over some more."

"For how long?" Sam asks, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze, and you sigh, "I-I, don't know. Okay, just.. I know I already said I would go with you, but I.." you shake your head, "Please, give me a little bit."

"We won't be far.." Sam nods, glancing at Colby with a nod, "If you need us, just call out."

You blink, and they're gone.

That was two days ago.

You've barely slept since that final conversation. You knew you needed to sleep, but your mind wouldn't rest enough to let you fall into that comfort.

You stood up from the couch with a sigh, moving to your kitchen to refill your empty wineglass. You didn't care that there was dried wine in the bottom, you didn't care about anything right now.

You already told them yes, but then backtracked and said you weren't sure.

A part of you, with now knowing what you know, was terrified they would just turn on you. Another part of you, still felt safe with knowing they were lurking around, just waiting for you to call out their name.

You stated at the dark liquid in the wide lipped glass, chewing on your lip as you tried to reach a verdict on what you wanted to do.

You took a deep breath, lifting your head, and right as you went to speak, a knock on your door caught your attention.

"Shit." You gasp, making your way over. You knew who was on the other side, and you knew she was worried, "I'm sorry." You pulled the door open, "I totally forgot."

Kris stares at you, "Dude, are you like, okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."

You couldn't help but let out a laugh, "Something like that."

She closes the door behind her, "What the hell happened?"

"Nothing." You breathe out, "Just.. that.. everything is really not what it seems, you know?" You walk over do the counter, lifting your glass to your lips and Kris follows, "What happened?"

You were half tempted to tell her, tell her everything, but you caught a glimpse of Colby standing in the doorway to your bedroom and that quickly changed your mind.

"Just.. they changed their mind." You shrug, "Sharing a girl wasn't what they thought it was, you know?"

"Oh." She frowns, "I'm sorry. That sucks."

You raise your brows, "yeah. Sure does."

"Well, I haven't heard from you in like, two days, and I was worried they kidnapped you or something, but now.." her eyes move over the two, almost three empty wine bottles, "I can see you've been self medicating."

You nod once and swing your drink, "I'm good." You smile at her, "I mean, Sam really played it up you know."

"He seemed good." She shrugs, "Maybe they'll change their minds?"

"Doubt it. Seems like they have more important places to be." You snort, "I don't fucking know." Kris walks up, slowly reaching up to take your glass away from you, "Come on." She takes your hand, "You're going for a shower then I'm taking you out for breakfast."

"Can we just order in, or something?" You huff as she pulls you to the bathroom, "I don't really feel like going out in public."

"Fine, I'll go get it, but only.." she turns the water to the shower on, "If you promise me you'll shower and sober up a little while I'm gone."
