She sat back? No.
Yasin Hussain's warning shut her up? No.
She cooled down? No.
She paused? No.

She will talk back? Yes, she will. That's why she attended this meeting. She wanted to show the Higher-ups the reality. The truth of a 100 years.

"Today mark the day when a century had been completed since MDA's beginning," the Head stated, "So we're going to establish a new rule whose authority and right was given to us a century ago."

A century ago, when MDA was established, the Higher-ups of that time implemented a rule stating that at the end of each century, MDA would be granted the authority to introduce a new regulation if it had not yet fulfilled its mission.

"And you're stating that fact with proud?" Erum spoke firmly. She wasn't going to back down now. Not even Yasin Hussain's warning would shut her up now.

"With all respect, Head, it has taken a century for MDA to accomplish what, exactly?" she spoke firmly, but her insides screamed another story, "A hundred years, and the people of the Family Hierarchy are still nothing more than outcasts to the world beyond these boundaries. To the actual normal people."

Yeah, since the people of Family Hierarchy weren't like others, they were considered outcasts. They were different from normal people.

The Head met her fiery gaze with his composed one. "Ms. Zamurd," he said, "progress takes time. We have made moves, but the nature of this task—bringing the Family Hierarchy into a world that fears us—is complex. It requires patience and, most importantly, cooperation."

And MDA was established a century ago to accomplish a task. A single task. They had to make sure that Family Hierarchy fits with normal people who consider them outcasts.

"Cooperation?" she echoed, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. "The Family Hierarchy has given everything—our people, our resources, and our loyalty. What more cooperation do you demand? Another century of waiting while we rot behind these boundaries?"

So form a century ago, Family Hierarchy have been helping MDA, giving them resources and money for to accomplish the task. But it was all vain. Erum felt like MDA was corrupt. But maybe she was wrong.

She continued speaking. Neither taking a break, nor giving Head the time to response.

"Oh yeah, we aren't even Family Hierarchy now, yeah? Family Hierarchy meant the twelve families. And since you have expelled Khandan-e-Hitam and Khandan-e-Branco, it's not Family Hierarchy anymore!"

Her voice, louder now. Gasps could be heard through the Higher-ups and representatives. All eyes were on her, but Erum didn’t seemed to care.

"Erum," Yasin Hussain’s spoke. He rose from his seat, "Enough."

But she barely spared him a glance, her focus locked on the Head.

"Don’t stop me," she snapped, with frustration. "Someone needs to say it. A hundred years is an insult to everyone who has ever fought for this cause. What has MDA done in all this time? Nothing."

"That’s enough!" Yasin barked. But Erum ignored him, her anger boiling over.

"You ask for patience," she shouted at the Head, "but patience... patience doesn’t heal the wounds of those who’ve been forced to live as ghosts!"

The Head’s expression darkened, but he didn’t interrupt. His silence, however, spoke volumes.

"Erum Zamurd," he finally said, addressing her by her name, his tone colder now, "mind your tone. Disrespecting this council and the MDA itself will not serve you or your Khandan. It's against the laws."
