In the underwater cavern, Wooyoung and San sat close, their forms illuminated by the soft glow of bioluminescent coral. The weight of the impending duel hung over them like a storm cloud, but in this moment, they clung to the fragile comfort of each other's presence.

Wooyoung hummed softly, a haunting melody that carried a sense of both sorrow and hope. His voice, imbued with the magic of a siren, wove through the water like a gentle current, wrapping around San like an embrace.

San rested his head against Wooyoung's shoulder, his eyes half-closed. His body was growing heavier, and the pain from the spreading scales was becoming harder to ignore. The shimmering patches now covered his forearm and had begun to creep up toward his shoulder.

"You always sing so beautifully," San murmured, his voice tired but filled with affection.

Wooyoung smiled faintly, his fingers brushing through San's damp hair. "I'll sing for you as long as you need, San."

San sighed, leaning into Wooyoung's touch. "I don't think I'll be able to live without you," he whispered, his voice cracking. He looked up at Wooyoung, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "So please... don't die."

Wooyoung's heart clenched at San's words. He cupped San's face gently, his thumb brushing away a stray tear that escaped. "I won't," he promised, his voice soft but resolute. "I'll do whatever it takes to stay with you, San. I swear it."

San nodded weakly, his body trembling as another wave of pain rippled through him. He winced, clutching his arm as the scales seemed to shimmer brighter, spreading faster.

"San!" Wooyoung exclaimed, his voice tinged with panic. He held San close, his hands hovering over the scales.

"It's... okay," San muttered, though his voice was strained. "It's just... it's hard."

Wooyoung's mind raced. He couldn't stand seeing San in pain, and he knew he couldn't stop the transformation entirely. But he could try to ease it. Taking a deep breath, Wooyoung placed his hands gently over the scales and closed his eyes.

A soft, golden glow began to emanate from his fingertips as he called upon his siren magic. His voice rose in a low, soothing hum, the melody infused with his power. The glow spread across San's arm, and the tension in his muscles slowly began to ease.

San let out a shaky breath, his body relaxing against Wooyoung's. The pain dulled to a faint ache, and he could feel warmth radiating from Wooyoung's magic.

"Thank you," San whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.

Wooyoung opened his eyes, a small smile gracing his lips. "Anything for you," he replied. He pressed a gentle kiss to San's temple, holding him close as the melody of his magic lingered in the water around them.

For a moment, the world outside the cavern faded away. It was just the two of them, wrapped in each other's presence, finding solace in the midst of chaos.

But they both knew the peace wouldn't last. The duel loomed ahead, and with it, the fate of their bond—and their very lives—hung in the balance.
