Her head was pounding, her body ached, and what was that sound? Groaning, Gwen blinked open her eyes and the sight that greeted her was not something Gwen would like waking up to if she had a choice. Frightened and angry faces of lycan men and women watched her warily. Oh boy, this isn't good. It was night fall, a great fire burned and lighted the scene a few feet from her and just enough to warm her cold body. Shivering Gwen observed her surroundings from where she stood. She was in a village, not a face she knew in sight, and her siblings nowhere to be seen. Or that man. Gwen wanted to growl just at the thought of him.
At some point of the trip while she was unconscious her hair had probably come undone, maybe when he grabbed her hair, because now it was everywhere in her face, she reached her hand up to tuck it away but she wasn't surprise to find her hands tied behind her. Tied to a pole to keep her upright too. Trying not to roll her eyes with annoyance Gwen cleared her throat and studied her audience. Some watched her with distaste and fear, while some talked in hushed tones to one another. They were scared of her, yes. But why? She had not given them reason too and there was no way they could possibly know that she worked for Odette the Fallen. Forced to work for her, that is. Unless one of her siblings said something to them. They knew what would happen if these people found out right? The voices of the villagers grew louder and louder with panic and fear. Straining, Gwen tilted her head trying to hear what they were saying.
"If she is here then the black witch can't be far!"
"Ewan won't let her hurt us!"
Ewan? Who? Just great. While they were busy talking amongst themselves Gwen tugged at her tied hands, her wrists bleeding from the rough ropes. Next time, she'll take some lessons on getting free of ties instead of lessons on how to tie people up. The villagers all stopped their bickering going quiet making Gwen stop her attempt of freeing herself to look around. The lycan people slowly moved to either side making way for the six men who she had met at the forest. First came the man who had shot her with the poisoned arrow. He never did anything more than that. He didn't hold me like I was special or looked at me like I was...not a monster but a woman. The next to follow was Thea and Nyx, both accompanied by men on either sides. The looks they gave her were grim. Gwen thinned her lips as she watched as two men followed. Breath caught in her throat she watched the two men drag her unconscious brother her way, Theron's black hair covered his face. No matter how much I worry for my siblings, I can't show any signs of weakness to these people. Gwen returned her gaze to the man. He too watched her, his face set in hard lines. Oh yeah, they knew something about her and it wasn't good. He walked right up to her as the others stood further back, inches away from her he watched her face then circled her slowly. When he faced her again he didn't look at her, he just pulled out a dagger and studied it. After a minute of silence Gwen huffed and leaned on the pole she was tied to. Examining her battered boots, "You know, if you're trying to scare me it's not working." Gwen looked up at the man, bored.
"Gwen," Thea scolded her like a child who had said something rude to an elder but Gwen just shrugged at her sister and gave her a confused "what?" face. Thea turned to the man, "Ewan, please! Just hear us out!" So this man is the one they call Ewan. The clan's leader? Well whoever he is, everyone seems to look up to him.
"Give me one good reason why I should not kill yer right now, White?" Ewan spat at her, his face cold and void of emotion.
Gwen froze. So they found out who she was. White. The name Odette gave Gwen as her right hand. But how? How did they know?
"You call me by the name but do you truly know if I am her?" Gwen gave him a cold look back in return but he only laughed at her making her feel disgusted about herself for feeling something for him even if it was only for a minute. But why did she feel like her heart was being squeezed in a tight fist?
"There is naw mistakin' that yer are the black witch's lap dog! I'm sure you've heard the tales about yerself," Ewan smirked at her without humor then started humming a tune as his face inched closer to hers. "A beauty who walks in nightmares, flames that only burn brighter, sad eyes of soft lavender, Oh Lady White won't you stop and look at me just once before I die?" Gwen swallowed the lump in her throat, feeling sick because many times they were the last words uttered to her by dying men on the battlefield. Ewan smiled into her face sensing her uneasiness, "An' the most obvious reason we know who yer are...," he studied her face then reached out a hand to capture a lock of her hair in his hand, "is your hair. Naw living immortal has hair of this color."
Angry, hurt, and frustrated at him Gwen snapped her teeth at him but he jumped out of the way before she could actually take a bite out of him, her actions making the crowd gasp and earning her killing looks. Her claws curled behind her as she bared her fangs at him, "I didn't come here to hurt anyone, but if you don't let us go I can't say that no one will get hurt."
Ewan slowly shook his head at her, "Everywhere yer go there is pain an' death, White."
"No...," Gwen didn't want to believe that wherever she went she brought pain and death, "It doesn't have to be this way."
"Why have yer come here?"
"I can't tell you that."
"You seem to care for the lad and the lasses, tell me" Ewan signaled one of his man, and a dagger was at Nyx's trembling throat, "or I will have to hurt them."
"Merely travelers. I found them and thought they would make a nice gift for her majesty Odette."
"I do not believe yer," Ewan snapped his finger and before Gwen could blink Nyx's neck was already bleeding.
"They mean nothing to me," They mean everything to me. Gwen could feel her sisters' gazes on her, though she didn't look their way she could make out their shocked faces.
"We will see 'bout that ," Ewan pointed to the pole next to Gwen and a struggling Thea was dragged effortlessly by two large lycan men to be tied next to her.
"Let me go you smelly dogs!" Thea yelled at the men. Gwen watched as they tied her and left. Thea tugged at the ropes before she threw Gwen a pleading look. What are you doing? Thea mouthed at Gwen but she dismissed her sister as she turned to face Ewan once more.
"What do you plan to do?" Gwen asked coolly.
Ewan didn't answer her, he only reached out his hand for a bow and arrow. After putting the arrow on the bow he pulled the string and pointed it at Thea, "It seems yer need a bit of motivation," He let the arrow go.
