"Hey Toothless," Hiccup yawned, walking hurriedly around the small living room of his home. He had just clamored down the stairs after waking with a start a few minutes. Within another moment he held the few bags that held things he could leave without; mainly his map, notebook, and fire sword.

Shuffling out the door and down towards Berk's cliff face that descended towards the gaping sea and awaiting ships he turned back to the Nightfury, still watching with a puzzled look, and trailing lazily behind. "Come on bud,"  Hiccup called, rushing the Nightfury on their way down. "Mom's gonna have my head if we're late."

"Your already late," He heard a familiar voice holler as he raced towards the docks. He turned to see a tall, broad-shouldered viking speeding to catch up with him.

"Thanks Fishlegs," Hiccup sighed sarcastically "But that's not really helping"

"Hey, don't worry Hiccup, I'm sure you're not the only one. I mean I'm late getting there, Maybe Valka will be to?" Fishlegs said, turning to give Hiccup a hopeful smile. He had almost forgotten that Fishlegs was going with them to Scotland, but -it being so far away- it made sense that Fishleg's would be interested, at least to cataloging its flora and fauna.

"My mom hasn't been big on missing out  since she's gotten back to Berk," Hiccup retorted, taking a few uneasy steps down the stairs towards the docks. His prosthetic had a knack for getting caught in whatever abnormality the wood might have, and Hiccup's overall clumsiness didn't help his case either.

Their conversation ceased as the pair made there  way through waves of people towards the Scottish ships that rested a few yards away. The boats were large, and obnoxiously different from Viking longships, but Valka had insisted that the Queen would be more comfortable on a vessel she was familiar with. Hiccup hadn't cared either way, hoping to mainly rely on Toothless to get to Scotland.

"That boats bigger than a Tide Glider*."

"And probably just as unforgiving in bad weather," Hiccup joked "But let's hope we won't have to find that out." Stepping aboard, he studied the main deck, then glanced at the other ship sitting across the harbor. "I'd forgotten how big this trip is." Hiccup sighed.

"Yeah, well these are definitely strange circumstances." Fishleg's said matter-of-factly. "It's not everyday you have to bring a Queen home after almost a year of being away... not to mention how long it's been since anyone from Berk has been to Dunbroch."

"I guess your right," Hiccup sighed turning to his friend and running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Speaking of which, do you remember how long this voyage is suppose to take?"

"Slower than in a longship," Fishleg's replied, bringing a hand to his chin in thought. "Although I guess it would count on the weather, and the wind. With the size of the ships it's possibl-"

"Ok Fishleg's," Hiccup laughed, cutting his friend short. "I think I get the picture, we'll just have to wait and see. "Besides,  I  think I should find my mom and the queen."

"Yeah, duties first," Fishleg's agreed, although the quizzical look stayed in his eyes. "I need to get these book's somewhere they'll stay dry anyway." Fishleg's replied, holding up the books he'd been carrying since catching up with Hiccup. One was a copy of the Book of Dragons; Fishleg's updated version.  "I figured someone down there may be interested in learning more about Dragons."

"That's a good idea ." Hiccup smiled. "At least the princes, I remember they seemed to enjoy spending time with Gobber and Grump while they were up here." Hiccup's mind drifted to Merida, and the tiny terrible terror she'd commandeered on her last few days on Berk. Had she ever decided on a name, he couldn't recall, but did wonder how both were doing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*- Tide Glider: A Tidal Class dragon first introduced in 'Rise of Berk'. It is a rare, large, light blue dragon capable of firing both blasts of Water and Acid. It's saliva is said to have a healing factor, similar to a Scauldron's venom.

Author's Note: Super short, quick chapter. The next one will most likely be a few days/weeks further into the voyage, I don't know how long it would've historically taken them but whatever. I don't want to dwell to much on ocean-voyage-time since there's not a whole lot of shenanigans that can really happen. So yeah, maybe a little of the next chapter, but that's it on the ships, which is why I didn't really give much detail. :P
