ways to be happy

ok i know everyone out there has been on the road to find happiness at some point. some people make it look so easy to be happy and it really makes me confused as to how?? and idk how i feel bye

HERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT HELP ME TO BE HAPPY:

1) DO NOT BECOME TOO DEPENDENT ON SOMEONE. (even if it's just for little things)

most of the time people end up practically putting their happiness in someone else's hands, as if asking them to hold it. it's like holding a glass of water. at first it's easy, it's doable. i'm pretty sure everyone knows a glass of water isn't heavy.

but after a while, it feels like it gets heavier and heavier and you just can't take it and you want to drop it but you know if you drop it it'll make a huge mess and you know you're lazy so you don't want to clean it up. and then all of a sudden it feels like a burden to be holding this small glass of water with 4 ice cubes in it. and you drop it.

you feel relieved. but imagine how the glass of water feels? (smh yes i know water isn't alive but just go along) all 12 ounces of water is all over the cold tile floor and the ice cubes are melting slowly and the water knows it just can't pick itself back up. it's stuck. alone in your dirty ass kitchen where you left it but guess what? you don't care because you feel better.

2) DON'T OVERTHINK.

overthinking leads to unhappiness. unless you're thinking about happy things don't overthink.

that relationship you just got out of? don't think about it.

that pre-calc test you failed? forget it.

be happy that you're out of that relationship, be glad that you failed that test. no matter what happens, things are going to end the way they're meant to be. and you, my friend, are meant to be happy.

3) ACCEPT THE THINGS YOU CANT CHANGE.

if you don't like something, change it. if you can't change it, accept it. being upset about things you can't change will not help you be happy.

if you can't change it by yourself, it'll change and get better on its own. after all, change is inevitable.

4) MAKE A LIST.

get some paper and a pencil. maybe even your favorite pen that's running low on ink.

you don't like the scar on the bridge of your nose? write it down. you don't like how your hair never stays straight? write it down. you don't like the fact that you're 4'11? write it down.

you absolutely despise the way your laugh squeaks at the end? write it down.

and rip it up. burn it.

you know why?

because all of those things you listed; they're gorgeous. beautiful. you may think they're annoying, but to me i love when your hair is curly and i love how short you are or how tall you are.

you. are. beautiful.

5) FIND SOMETHING YOU LOVE.

whether that thing is reading or writing or cracking jokes or even collecting shells, enjoy it. find your passion.

i mean, hell, i play six instruments and i'm second chair in the biggest orchestra in my district. i love music, because it makes me happy.

"viola is lame." do you think i care? like i said before it makes me happy.

never ever ever stop doing what you love and what you're passionate about just because someone doesn't agree with it.

i don't know if this is classified as a rant and i know only named a few but there are soooo many other ways to be happy. you may not find happiness today or tomorrow or next week, but it's coming your way. -jord
