The Note

Milliana woke up and stretched her tired limbs until she heard that satisfying crack. (A/N Does anyone else love that feeling?) She stood up from her bed and was about to take a shower when she noticed something. She looked at her window and saw a note attached to it from the outside. She stared at it with confusion. Her feet automatically walked towards the window. When she opened the window she noticed it wasn't locked. I thought I locked it last night. She grabbed the note and sat at her work desk. She was fighting in her mind whether she should open it or just leave it for after school. So she made up her mind and left it. Could just be some people trying to scare me. She thought as she got up and got ready for school.

As Milliana was walkinbg to her bus stop she couldn't help but feel watched. She turned her head swiftly to see nothing. Probably just my imagination. As she arrived at the bus stop she noticed Laura hadn't tackled her in a hug when she arrived. In fact, she didn't see her at the bus stop at all. I wonder where she is... Milliana decided to call her and see where she was. It rang a few times before someone picked up. "Hey Laura, where are you? I didn't see you at the bus stop." But what she heard sent a shiver down her spine. It was a male's voice. It sounded like the man was gargling gravel. "Read the note and it shall be revealed." He ended the call and left a scared Milliana just standing in the middle of the hallway thinking, what just happened?

During shop she couldn't help thinking about the phone call. She kept looking into space and thinking, what am I gonna do? Is Laura okay? What did I do? She jumped at the sound of a hand hitting her station. "Miss Carter!" Milliana looked up to be greeted by her angry teacher. "The next time you doze off, I will not hesitate to send you out of my classroom, young lady! School is not for slacking off, do you understand?" Milliana nodded halfheartedly and went back to work. When the teacher left her station, she continued as she waited for the school day to end.

Once school ended Milliana ran to her house, eager to read the note, but when she ran past the cave she couldn't help but stop and stare straight into it. She couldn't help but feel someone was staring right back at her, she just couldn't see them. Suddenly she noticed a shadow from the cave move. Her eyes widened with fear and her legs took her as fast as they could to her house's front door. Home at last.

Milliana ran upstairs despite her mother yelling, opened her bedroom door, threw her bag on the floor, and took a seat at her desk. She grabbed the letter with shakey hands, terrified to see what was inside. She mustered up all her courage and opened it up. Once she read it, she put her hand to her mouth as tears started to flow. The letter read,

My dearest Milliana,

Your friend is with me for the time being. If you plan on ever seeing her again, you must come to where you saw the shadow reveal itself. You can bring as many of your friends as you like. The more the merrier. Be warned, there are many trials to pass. Each getting harder. Each getting stronger. If you pass each trial, your final task shall be with me. If you win I let you and your friemds free. If you lose, however, I will keep you and your friends as my personal soulless army. If you deny this request, I will continue to take the ones you love. Until then, Milliana.

Milliana couldn't stop shaking and crying. She was still shocked by what she had just read. All her emotions were going crazy. Anger, sadness, fear, worry. She realized she couldn't go to anyone. Her parents would just call the cops and Laura could just get killed faster. She couldn't risk it. She knew what she had to do. She knew she had to save her best friend.
