"Wake up!" Ruby sang while shaking my shoulders.
"Ugh, five more minutes." I replied. I remember reading online somewhere once that this was Taurus' biggest lie. "No, not five more minutes, not even one more. Now." I gave her a dramatic sigh and heaved myself out of my bed, my eyes still thick with sleep. I watched her leave my room and walk downstairs.
Today we get on our flight to America, we've been planning this for years now, ever since our first year of high school. We promised each other we will see every part of the world that there is to be seen, this was number one on our bucket list.
However I guess you can say that this is all happening, with a twist, instead of it just being two best friends traveling the world, it's two best friends and a boyfriend. Not mine of course, I haven't had a boyfriend since my third year of high school, and I guess I can't count him as being a real boyfriend.I pick up my phone and see three text messages and a call, but choose to ignore them, I don't need any more reminders of what had happened last week. My heart jumps into my stomach and suddenly I can't control the excitement. "We're going travelling!" I yell, mostly to myself. "We're going to see the world!" Ruby sings back.
When we arrive at the airport I have a hard time taking it all in. The Japanese airlines are so different to the ones in Italy. We pass customs and take a seat in gate 3. "Coffee?" Matt asks,
"Yeah, sure," Ruby says while standing up. "Sasha?"
"I'm okay thanks," I reply opening my book. I have been dying to get some time to read. I watch them walk off hand in hand, a pang if jealousy crosses over me and then soon disappears again. I often write about the kind of love I want, what it would be like to walk hands interlocked with someone else's, for two hearts to beat as one."Hey, is this seat free?"
I look up and I'm stunned to see a guy looking down at me. He must read my face wrong. "It's okay, I will find another seat."
"No," I reply, quickly, "this seat is free," I can feel my face turning red. He smiles a lopsided grin, "alright, I'm Jase by the way." My eyes meet his, "Sasha." He puts his hand forward, and I reach out to shake it. "Nice to meet you, Sasha," I only manage a smile. I sit there staring into his forest green eyes and try to figure out everything his been through, all his heart breaks and all his buoyant time, I stare at him for a while, a bit too long, and he repeats his question. "Where are you off to?" I slowly shake myself out if my daze and chain of thoughts, "America, you?" His eyes light up, "so am I.
