100 white balloons

24 4 3

As a child I used to look

At the skies in wonder.

All the clouds seemed to be so free

I wished a cloud could pick up me.

So I could fly, Into the sunlight.

Past the clouds, and rainy days.

So I gathered one hundred white balloons.

And I floated away.

As I floated away from earth.

Into the blank, spaces above.

I looked beside me,

I found no one around me

That's when I realized, freedom didn't rest in the skies.

It rested in the people who knew me.

That made me smile, laugh, and cry,

Those friends didn't rest in the skies

So I popped my balloons, and fell from the sky.

My vision blurs, as clouds fly by.

I see my friend waiting, arms spread wide.

Then they catch me in a net of their love.

And I cry, I cry because of the beauty.

The beauty of freedoms sweet grace.

I was so blind, and my friends were so kind

To show me the way.
