The Makeover Project

The Beginning

As my alarm goes off I groggily roll out of bed and turn it off. It's officially the first day of summer, thank God.

I lazily drag my still exhausted body downstairs. Going into the bathroom, I hop into the shower.

I was my hair with my favourite lemon scented shampoo and do everything else you do in the shower.

Once I'm finished I get out and wrap a pink fluffy towel around my body. Everyone was still asleep so I quietly go upstairs and get my blow-dryer and plug it in downstairs so nobody will be woken up by the noise.

I finish blow drying my hair in half an hour and I then decide to straighten it. Once again I make my way upstairs to pick out my outfit.

After a few minutes of looking through my wardrobe I finally decide on an emoji top and a pair of skinny sweatpants. Since I don't know much when it comes to makeup I only apply some mascara onto my eyelashes.

Grabbing my phone I head into the kitchen to get something to eat. I end up making myself a plate of scrambled eggs with two slices of toast. Simple but delicious.

"Good Morning Izzy" my mam says as she walks into the kitchen in her worn out, blue, silky dressing gown.

Only my family and friends call me Izzy. Everyone else at school calls me Isabelle.

"Morning mam" I reply while getting up to make her a coffee.

Once the kettle has boiled I pour in the scorching hot water along with coffee, sugar and add some milk. Just the way she likes her coffee.

Once I had given it a stir with a spoon I place it on the wooden table, where my mam was sitting.

She thanks me and starts sipping her coffee. "So what do you plan to do all summer?" my mam inquires.

"Well I'm not really sure to be honest. I was thinking of inviting Amanda and Rachel over." I replied.

My mam nodded in approval as to say that she was letting me invite them over. I take out my phone and text Rachel and Amanda asking if they would like to come over.

Within minutes they had replied with a "sure xx" and an "I'd love to x"

I placed my dirty plate in the sink and headed for the sitting room to watch some television while I was waiting. Nothing good was on normal telly so I settled for some Gossip Girl on Netflix.

Around an hour later, the doorbell rang. It must be the girls I thought to myself, getting up. Sure enough once I opened the door it was them.

"WE HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU!!!" they both exclaimed excitedly in unison.

"Okayyyy what is it??" I asked curiously.

"We're going to give you a makeover over the summer" Rachel exclaimed.

Oh god this couldn't be good.

Many hours later the girls were still at my house. We had come up with a plan and a list of everything we need. The plan was for me to try and get noticed differently by people.

Amanda, Rachel and I weren't exactly popular. We weren't complete losers either. We were somewhere in the middle.

The first step of my plan was to change my appearance. I'm going to learn how to do my makeup properly and I'm going to get lots of things about me changed.

I had to change my diet and stick to eating healthy foods instead of fatty junk food that I always have.

I have all summer to do this. Honestly I'm terrified of doing this plan. What if it fails miserably?

We decided that we were going to go shopping tomorrow to buy now stuff for me that I will need in order to complete this plan.

Since it was already pretty late the girls decided to stay the night. They have stuff left at my house for times like this when they stay the night without planning it beforehand.

All of us put on our pyjamas and started talking about what else we can do to make me different than I usually am.

To be honest I'm really shy. I'm not good at talking to people and I can't flirt to save my life.

Somehow we managed to fall asleep at around 2am after pigging out on ham and pineapple pizzas and a lot of sweets and coke.

After all this was the last day that I would be eating all this unhealthy stuff. Tomorrow everything changes.
