The car cruised down the highway, its tires humming softly against the smooth asphalt. Aayansh had one hand on the steering wheel, his sharp eyes fixed on the road ahead. The early morning sun bathed the landscape in golden hues, but the atmosphere inside the car was anything but warm. Ishanvi sat in the passenger seat, fiddling with her dupatta, stealing glances at him now and then.
Finally, unable to bear the silence, she broke it. “Aapko pata hai? Aapke saath travel karna ek punishment ki tarah lagta hai. Itni shanti toh kabristan mein hoti hai.”
[“You know what? Traveling with you feels like a punishment. Even graveyards aren’t this quiet.”]
Aayansh’s grip on the wheel tightened slightly, and a faint smirk curved his lips. Without taking his eyes off the road, he replied, “Shanti tumhare liye punishment hai? Tabhi toh tum hamesha shor machaati ho.”
[“Silence feels like punishment to you? No wonder you’re always making noise.”]
Ishanvi gasped, placing a hand on her chest. “Main shor machaati hoon? Wah, pati dev! Aapki shaan mein kuch kahoon toh main shor machaane wali ho gayi?”
[“I make noise? Wow, dear husband! If I say something about your greatness, I become the noisy one?”]
Aayansh chuckled under his breath, his gaze still focused ahead. “Kuch kehna aur bakwas karna, dono mein farq hota hai, Mrs. Agnivanshi.”
[“There’s a difference between saying something and rambling nonsense, Mrs. Agnivanshi.”]
She crossed her arms and sank into her seat, pouting. “Aap bas taunt maarna jaante ho. Pata nahi aapke saath safar kaise kaatungi main.”
[“All you know is how to taunt. I don’t know how I’ll survive this journey with you.”]
Aayansh rolled his eyes, clearly amused by her antics. “Tum na sirf bolti nhi ho, balki apne aap se baatein karna bhi shuru kar deti ho. Kahin ek taraf baith jao, warna mujhe lagega ki tumhara koi mute button dhoondhna padega.”
[“Not only do you talk, but you also start having conversations with yourself. Just sit quietly, or I’ll feel like I need to find your mute button.”]
Ishanvi stared at him, her jaw dropping in disbelief. “Mute button?! Hawww! Aap mujhe machine samajh rahe ho?”
[“Mute button?! Oh my God! Are you comparing me to a machine?”]
Aayansh smirked, finally sparing her a glance. “Tumhare energy levels dekh kar to lagta hai ki tum ek supercharged robot ho.”
[“Looking at your energy levels, you do seem like a supercharged robot.”]
She narrowed her eyes, muttering under her breath. “Ek din main hi aapki battery down kar dungi, dekh lena.”
[“One day, I’ll drain your battery, just wait and watch.”]
Aayansh couldn’t help the laugh that escaped his lips, his voice rich and deep. “Bohot dangerous ho tum, Ishanvi.”
[“You’re very dangerous, Ishanvi.”]
She gave a dramatic sigh, leaning back in her seat. “Aap toh mujhse darte bhi nahi ho, phir kaisi dangerous?”
[“You’re not even afraid of me, so how am I dangerous?”]
He shook his head slightly, his expression unreadable. “Danger sirf dikhane ke liye hoti hai, asliyat samajhne ke liye nahi.”
[“Danger is only meant to be seen, not understood.”]
