A Life for a Life - 6

When they got to the hospital, they immediately enetered Mr. Villamor's room. Seth saw his father lying in his bed, talking to his doctor.

His father asked him, "Who are you?"

"What?"

"I said, who are you? What are you doing here? Do I know you?" he asked again.

Seth looked to the doctor,

"Doc! What's the meaning of this?! Don't tell me..." then he ran to his father and hugged him.

"Dad! It's me! This is Seth! I'm your son, remember? Please don't forget about me! Dad!" and then he felt that his father started to cry.

"Oh. I'm so sorry, son. I didn't recognize you. My eyesight is getting blurry, you know, signs of aging." they both smiled.

"Phew! I thought you already had an amnesia, that was kind of a little heart-attack." his father laughed.

"Calling you a father by your own son is the best feeling ever. Could you do it again, son?"

"Sure! I will call you 'Dad' whenever you want, wherever you want, as many times as you want. I'll do everything you want. Just ask, okay?" then they hugged each other.

While Seth and his father was talking to each other, Mrs. Sandoval asked the doctor,

"Doc., what happened to him? Is everything okay now?"

"He's body just got tired too much, that's why he fainted. Everything is alright now, but it will no longer be okay. After we examined him, we saw that there's something in his heart that can't function properly. If we don't care about this now, it will cause something bad to him that could lead him to death."

"What?! What shall we do? Please, do your best for my friend's life!"

"Yes, Ma'am. We will proceed to a heart transplant. But this is a special case. We will need a heart that's is connected to him. I mean, a heart which is from his relative."

Mrs. Sandoval explained it to Mr. Villamor and he accepted it calmly.

Two days after they visited him is the day when he will be operated. Before the operation begin, he approached Seth,

"Seth, promise me you'll never leave me. You will wait me until I wake up, okay?"

"Yes, I promise."
