Niall POV

"LOUIS," Harry yells, practically jumping onto the other boy as he walks into my flat. "TAKE ME AWAY."

"Calm down, Harry," he says, grinning. "I came here to see Niall." Harry rolls his eyes and gets off.

"Louis," I say, grinning. He smiles.

"Dressed all fancy?" he asks. "Why?"

"Tori's coming around in about half an hour," I say. "We have a date."

"So you called me here to babysit Harry," Louis states. "Just when I get back from holiday.."

"Harry doesn't need babysitting. I just want to make sure he doesn't burn this complex down."

"That's babysitting," Louis says, grinning. "But alright. I'll do it."

"Why does everyone see me as a chore?" Harry moans.

"I don't think you're a chore," Liam says as he enters the building. "I brought a bunch of movies."

"Liam, please. Not Disney again," Harry says.

"Harry, I have a much larger range of movies than just Disney," Liam says with a roll of his eyes, dumping the plastic bag of DVDs onto the table. "Finally. All of us in a room together for the first time during summer."

Then a silence. One, two, three, four of us. No Zayn. Because Perrie was getting worse each day and there was no way to stop the progress of the disease, which no one seemed to know the cure of. Or even what it was. And I know that everyone else was thinking of the same thing. "Well, not all of us," Louis says gravely. "How's Perrie?"

"Worse," I say simply. The last time I'd been on the phone with Zayn, he'd told me that all he could do during this time was stay outside Perrie's hospital room with a thick panel of glass separating them. They were in some part of America, trying to find treatment. "But Zayn will be with us for the tour."

"He's in America with Perrie and Perrie's family," Harry says. "The only reason he's not here is because he refuses to leave her."

"Even though he doesn't even get to see her properly. She always has a team of doctors around her and he can only see her through a thick panel of glass. Apparently the one thing they've seen in this illness is that it's highly contagious."

Another silence spreads across the room. This time it's broken by Tori's little rap on the door, a short rhythm I remember clapping while I was in school. A smile involuntarily spreads across my face as I open the door. "Hi, beautiful."

"Hi, Niall," she says, smiling and giving me a kiss on the cheek before she enters. "Woah. Am I interrupting a meeting or something..?"

"No, just talking about -" my throat dries up and Harry finishes for me.

"- Zayn."

A sober expression replaces Tori's usually happy one. "How's Perrie?" she asks in a low tone, plopping herself onto the couch. She's dressed elegantly, like I asked, in a blue and black high-neck lace dress and black heels. Her hair's in curls down her back and I can't help but be distracted by how beautiful she looks.

"Worse," Liam replies for me, looking from me to Tori. "She's worse."

Tori sighs. "That's too bad. I'm a big fan of theirs," she explains. "What's she ill with?"
