I slowly leaned back and stared at her shocked face. My heart was racing through my chest as I realized what I had done.

I kissed her.

Her face slowly turned from shock, anger, and then to confusion.

"Why did you do that?" She mouthed.

"Because," I said, trying to find a way to say my feelings. "I-I love you."

"I'm sorry. You can't fall in love with a person like me, a mute." She mouthed again, then she looked down.

"I'm sorry. But I already have." I whispered, squinting my eyes and leaning in. I stopped, centimeters away from her face.

I was somewhat mad because she was lying. She's not really a mute. I saw her singing to Tyler, her little brother just a few days ago. But she's so scared of her dad that she doesn't talk to anyone anymore.

I grabbed her chin and gently brought it up and finished where I left off. "And in my opinion, this is the best love there is." And with that said, I crashed my lips onto hers. This kiss wasn't like the one before; I kissed her to try and convince her of loving me too. She slowly brought her hands up around my neck and kept it there. I put one hand behind her head and one on her waist, bringing her closer to me.

She's kissing me back. She loves me. She loves me!

She then took her hands off my neck and brought them to my chest, pushing me away gently. I didn't want to stop kissing her, so I ignored her pushing. Until she started punching my chest.

I pulled away, hurt. She didn't love me back. After both kisses, she didn't feel anything for me. All this was a waste of time.

"Forget it." I said, suddenly mad. "This is just a waste of time anyway." I turned away, ready to walk away from that alleyway. I felt a slight pulling on my arm, but kept walking away. Then I saw her out of the corner of my eye, pulling my arm. I stopped walking and she crashed into my back. I angrily turned around, glaring at her.

"What do you want!?" I yelled. She flinched from my attitude, instantly scared. Seeing this, my eyes softened.

But what happened next surprised the crap out of me. She slowly put her arms around my waist and hugged me.

"I think...... I love you too." She said smiling and looking up at me. I gasp, realizing this was the first time she actually talked to me, using her voice, not mouthing her words. We all knew that she talked, but we pretended that we didn't know. "I love you. Te amo mi amor. Je t'aime. Watashi wa, anata o aishiteimasu. I'm sorry it took so long to say it. And in different languages too." She giggled, seeing my shocked face. Yes, I was surprised she said 'I love you' in four different languages, especially how she said it in Japanese. It sounded so clear, as if she had been practicing Japanese forever. I smiled at her.

"Yup. Took you long enough." I said, smirking. I then kissed her again.

But this time, we kissed as if we would never see each other again.

Which in a few days it would be true. I didn't know at the time that her father was watching us, planning his next move. And that move was to get her away from me.
