Just to piss my mom off, I made sure I "slept" late enough to miss the bus. Once I had heard the bus leave, I walked downstairs to where my mom was sitting.
"Hi mom! How'ya doin? Oh! Is that for me!"
I said taking her blueberry muffin from her plate. I didn't even like muffins, but I knew they were her fav. I could see the frustration in her face.
"You will not be going anywhere this week. The only place you can go is to school. You will be back by 5 & if you aren't, I will shut your phone down and send you to grandma's for the rest of the year. I've tried being nice to you. That obviously didn't work. I don't want to be mean, but you've given me no choice. Hand over you car keys."
I stood there. Shocked. My mom had never laid the strict foot before. Wow. I might have gone a little too far this time. Just a little.
"Layla."
She said holding her hand out.
"No. I'm keeping my keys & I'll be home by 7. Love ya!"
I said blowing her a kiss while flinging my backpack over my shoulder & taking her wallet, which was sitting on the table.
"LAYL-"
I cut her off & slammed the door in her face.
