Wonderland

Complications

I wake up to blinding light. I blink a couple of times and sit up. So it was a dream. I look around and the horror sets in. I was wrong. I'm still in the same cottage as before and I'm in the same dress. I feel like cying, but I know bawling won't do me any good. I look beside me to find that Zayn isn't in bed. I have a brief moment of panic, thinking he abandoned me, but then he walks in the room. I release a breath of relief. "It's about time you woke up.", he grumbles, annoyance prominent in his voice. "Hurry up and get out of bed, we need to keep moving.", he says, walking out the room. I climb out of bed and follow him. He's standing under the hole we came through. "Come here, I'll hoist you up." , he says, waving me over. I hesitate, but eventually I walk over to him. He picks me up and practically throws me through the hole. I land on the ground rather hard, and I look up to see Zayn already standing by me, hand out. I take it, and he helps me up. I back down at the hole. "How did you-" "Don't ask.", he says, cutting me off. He turns around and starts walking, me following. It's been a few minutes when i finally get the guts to ask the two questions that have been nagging me since we started walking. "Where are we, and we are we going?", I ask. "We're in the dark forest and I'm taking you to the white queen's castle.", he answers. "Who's the white-", but before i can even finish my question, Zayn brings us to a abrupt stop. I look around him to see a massive creature with red and black scales, horns, and monsterous teeth walking around up ahead. A scream is about to escape my throat when Zayn clamps a hand on my mouth. "Do not move or speak.", he mouths. I nod, and we wait for it to pass. Just when I think it's about to go away and we're safe, a twig snaps near us and the monster turns towards us and roars, running at us at a speed faster than i thought such a massive creature could run at.
