"Hey. You alright" Emily asked

"Yes. I am totally fine" I said with a nervous laugh

"Alright everybody get out were closing early" said Emily

Everybody groaned and moaned. Very upset that Emily ruined there frappé time.

"What are you doing"

"Kicking everybody out" Emily said in a duh tone

"Well I know that. I can clearly see that. But why"

"So that we can talk without someone ordering for something"

"Okay whatever"

By now everyone was gone. Emily walked over to the door and flip the sign that was once open to now closed. She locked the door giving me the 'sit down and tell me everything look.' I sighed and sat down. Emily sat across from me waiting patiently and impatiently. I began telling her everything.

"Are kidding me? That little fucking cunt sucker"

I laughed at her calling Devon a "fucking cunt sucker"

"Yea. I just don't know what to do. I mean like I know that Devon needs to see his son, but it has been fucking 3 years and now all of a sudden he wants to come in Daniel's life"

I put my head in my hands sighing. I sensed Emily's eyes on me. Emily slowly picked my head up looking at me.

"Look I can't say I know what you're going through. But I do known that you are a strong independent woman who has been struggling with keeping herself and her son alive and off the streets. And I admire you for it. I know you will think of something for you to do.

I smiled at her and thanked her. Emily is the only person who I can call a true friend. She grew up in tough times and we met when I started working at Starbucks 2 years ago to provide for me and my son. Mostly my son. We have been best friends since. I looked at the time. Shit I have to go pick up Daniel. I got up and put my jacket on and my purse over my shoulder.

"I gotta go. Thank you for everything Emily. I mean it"

"Of course. Anytime. If you need me for anything call me and I'll be there in a heartbeat"

We hugged and I left out saying goodbye and pretty much running to catch the bus.

30 mins later I made it to my apartment and went to Ms. Loretta's apartment. She opened the door for me and led me in. I saw Daniel watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I smiled at him.

"He wanted to stay up and wait until you came"

"Mommy" Daniel said and ran up to me

I bent down and and open my arms.

"Hey how is my little man" I said tickling him. He just started laughing.

"Thank you so much for watching him everyday"

"No problem Braeden. It's my pleasure" Ms. Loretta said while hugging me and smiling. I hugged back. Me and Daniel left Ms. Loretta's apartment and went down the stairs to mine.

"How was your day buddy" I asked Daniel while putting the key in the locks.

"It was sooooooo much fun"

I laughed. When I opened the door he was standing right there with a smile on his face. I stood there angry and shocked. Daniel looked scared and confused.

"Mommy...who is that man?

I just gulped
