"Thanks," you say to the waiter with a smile that was apparently too friendly. "What was that all about?" Zayn questions from across the table.
"What was what?"
"What you just did."
"What did I just do?" You question, unsure of what he was seeing that you hadn't. "That smile," he points out.
"Okay? What about it?"
"It was a little much for a guy you don't even know, don't you think?" You pause to consider his question.
"Zayn, I didn't even realize what I was doing."
"Well that makes it even worse then."
"What are you on about Zayn? I don't get it." He falls silent and only shakes his head. Nothing is said between the two of you as you continue the rest of your meal. The drive home is just as quiet. "Why are you mad?" You question breaking the silence with only about fifteen minutes left in your drive. "That guy thought you were flirting with him," he answers quietly.
"How do you get that?"
"The smirk on his face as he walked away."
"You're over exaggerating," you tell him. "Am I?" He counters, his tone louder than usual. "You don't have to shout," you acknowledge.
"I will shout if I have to."
"Why are you acting like this?" You question, unsure of his mood change. He falls silent yet again as he changes lanes on the M4. Once moving to the far left to exit you can't believe his actions. "Are you serious?" You ask as he drives in the direction of your house. "I don't want you staying over tonight," he explains. You scoff and roll your eyes. "You're acting ridiculous." Your response only causes a shrug. You curl against the passenger door as you watch the darkness go by. Once at your house no 'goodbyes' are said between the two of you. You only sigh as you step from the car, resisting the urge to slam the door behind you. He pulls away immediately, not waiting to make sure you got in safely like usual. You shake your head at his childish behavior. "Hey baby girl," you greet Sophie once inside the dimly lit living room. Collapsing onto the couch, you turn on the television as she quickly jumps into your lap. "What is it with guys?" You ask her. She can only look at you with her deep brown eyes and whine. "I don't know either," you respond, moving to lay down on the couch with her curled tightly into you.
