Serena danced around in the garden in her backyard. The sunlight hitting her red hair just perfectly. Her mum was in the kitchen making her a ham sandwich since it was her absolute favorite.
Lily looked back and smiled at her husband James. "Isn't she lovely?" She said, referring to their daughter Serena Rose Potter. "She looks just like you," he said as he kisses her cheek, setting his briefcase on a stool. Lily smiled and looked back out the window at her daughter.
Lily and James were lucky enough to have had time to hatch a plan in case Voldemort came looking for them. Harry was still just an infant and they wanted to protect him. Their plan involved them faking their deaths and escaping, which was a success. Nobody knew of this plan but them though. After they followed through with their plan that Halloween night everyone they knew and loved thought they were dead and they couldn't let anyone know that they weren't. Harry was still in the house though and they feared that Voldemort had killed him. Lily was devastated at the fact she might have lost her son, her first born.
They went off into hiding once more, blending in with the muggles and staying away from magic. They eventually had Serena a few years later. She was their pride and joy. One day though they were suddenly thrust into the world of magic once more.
"I'll get it!" Serena said bouncing off her chair and running towards the front door. She picked up the mail swiftly and stared strangely at an envelope with her name on the front. "Did you get the mail sweetie?" Lily called from the kitchen table. "Yeah mum I did and I got a weird letter," she said walking back towards her parents. Lily looked over at James with fear in her eyes. "What is it?" James asked, sticking his hand out to take it from her. "I don't know," Serena said as she handed the envelope to her father. James looked at it and knew it where it was from. He sighed, "your mother and I need to talk to you about something," he said looking at his wife.
