One year, four months, and twenty-four days.

That's how long it's been since The Fading Oddities of Nate Smith was first published. And God, has it been a journey for me.

All my life, I've dreamed of writing and finishing a story for people to read and enjoy. For years, I've longed to begin writing a book and keep it long enough to see the day I write the words "The End." Never did I think that this book would be the first to do it for me.

There were actually a lot of times when I gave up on this book, when I thought that I'd never have the commitment to write it to the very end. Sometimes, I considered deleting the story and forgetting about it altogether, but something inside me kept telling me to press on, to never give up until every last word of this story was written and published.

And you know what? Upon writing this very Author's Note, I've never felt happier - more fulfilled - ever in my life.

I wanna give special thanks to:

Nate - If it weren't for you, this story wouldn't exist. I wanna thank you so much for just, well, being you. You've inspired me to write the very first story I've ever finished, and I can't thank you enough for that. Nate, if you're reading this, I wanna let you know you're an awesome person. I couldn't do this without you :)

Morgan - I still remember the day you mentioned this book on your Ask.fm a little over a year ago. I'll never forget that; thank you for what you said <3

Dookie - I'm sorry I killed you off! XD But seriously, I wanna thank you for simply existing as well. You're a great guy, and this story would've never existed without you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

And finally, I wanna thank you, the readers.

You guys are the ones that reminded me why I wrote this story. You guys are the ones that inspired me to persevere and hang in there 'till the very end, and I can never give enough thanks to repay you all for that. I've made so many friends through this story, too, and I honestly don't know where I'd be if I hadn't met such wonderful people.

So, thank you. Thank you a million times and beyond. It's been so much fun writing this story, and I'm gonna miss the memories we all made through it.

I will never forget this day. Thank you, with every inch of who I am.

With Love,
SkippyTheMudkip

(P.S. I want you to look up "Chasseur" in Google Translate if you haven't already ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
