My best friend is my boyfriend's mate?!

Chapter 2

Amelia's POV
Amie, Amie wake up" I could hear Zoe's voice somewhere in the distance. I slowly force my eyelids open wincing from the sunlight my head pounding. I rest my head in my hands and try to clear my brain. Corey,Adrian could it all have been a dream? I look up and see my normal English class with Ms. Monroe. Okay everything looks like it normally should. "Amie, are you alright? You fell asleep in class again." Zoe says looking concerned. "Are you getting enough sleep at night?" She worries about me too much. " Zoe I'm fine, stop worrying so much." She turned back with a hurt look on her face. Honestly though I haven't had a good nights sleep in ages. My parents shouting usually keeps me up. Every time I lie to my best friend in kills me on the inside. Lying just comes so easily to me.

" I do have one question though, before class started did anything happen between Corey, Adrian and me?" She looks at me like I'm an idiot. "What did you just completely forget what happened? Corey practically threw out of the door way. Luckily Adrian was there to catch you." Damn it. All of it really did happen. Can't my life go right for once?
"Corey didn't throw me out the door way he just pulled my bag down..and I went with it"
"What are you talking about? You were on the other side of the hallway. People thought you got knocked out or had a concussion. Everyone was even more surprised to see that Adrian was fine, he got slammed into a locker and just picked himself up like it was nothing."
My mouth went dry as I was see fuzzy pictures in brain of what happened. My words came out stuttering " But...but I don't remember, all I know is that I have a really bad headache."
The bell rang signalling the end of class. Zoe heaved a sigh " C'mon I'll take you to the nurses office."

The walk to the nurses office was silent,letting ourselves be alone with our thoughts. I'm going to have to have a serious talk with Adrian. Zoe was walking with a troubled look on her face, I was about to ask what's wrong when she stops suddenly. "Um I have to go to class now. You know how Mr. Simpson can't get. You'll be fine won't you?" I give her a small nod as she gives me a smile and walks away.
I knock on the nurses door and go in. I started hyperventilating as I talked to the nurse. " Could I have aspirin or you know something to help with a headache." I say awkwardly. The nurse smiles sweetly and replies. "Of course dear." She was quite an old lady but one of the nicest hearts I've ever met. She hands me a tablet and a cup of water in her shaky hands. I quickly swallow it and mumble a thank you as I exit the door. I turned up a little late to class but no one turned a head as I slipped into the science class. The class went normal for a change.

The bell for lunch rang as started heading out the door towards the cafeteria. I knew Zoe won't be there since she has rehearsals for the school play. Right time to interrogate my boyfriend. I decided to by an apple to eat for lunch. I don't eat much anyway. As I sat down I saw Adrian enter through the doors. He saw me sitting at our usual table and smiled. I returned the smile. "Hey" he said kissing my cheek then sitting across from me. I took a bite of my apple and smiled widely at him, mouth closed that is. I swallowed quickly deciding to get this interrogation over with.
" So just before English class what happened?" I question him.
"Corey being his normal ass-face self pulled you down by your bag strap, but don't worry your brave solider was their to save you" he says with a cheeky expression. For some reason I just can't bring myself to believe him.
" Yeah that's what I thought but Zoe told me I landed on the other side of the hallway" I say as his grin falters.
" No you didn't you naked I my arms by the doorway."
"Really? Are you sure? From research I know someone can't get that big of a headache by 'falling by the doorway'"
I counter.
"Nothing that big happened, believe me." Adrian tries to reason with me.
"Really nothing?" I scoffed.
"Yes" he said with a determined look on his face.
" You Absolutely sure." I test him.
"Absolutely "
I started to raise my voice. " Corey growled at me."
"No he didn't" Adrian's voice starting to raise as well.
"Yes he did"
"No he didn't " I was starting to get angry now.
"You GROWLED back!" I was shouting now.
"Oh, c'mon Amie that's just ridiculous. Why on earth would I grow at someone?"
By this time there was a few people looking at us. I started walking out the cafeteria gritting my teeth. I head to the one place I feel calm, the school library. I sit in the corner with my head down thinking. After a few minutes I could here footsteps coming towards where I was sitting. " Amie, Amie I'm sorry I didn't mean to shout I'm sorry" I immediately recognise the voice as Adrian's. I lift my head from my hands and breathe out a sigh. "I'm sorry to" I say but do I believe myself? Adrian's smiles his classic Adrian smile and hugs me. I hug him back. Deciding I want to get away from what just happened I bring up another topic to talk about. "So it's your birthday in a couple of weeks. What do you want?" I ask him instead. His smile drops as he thinks about. I about to question him what's wrong but he interrupts me. "You. All I want is you." I give him a big cheesy smile as I go to kiss him. Nothing could ruin my life right now.
Boy was I wrong.
