"Beff, who were you talking to yesterday?" Matthew asks me whilst I put him to bed. He snuggled up to his stuffed lion, cuddling it to his chest. "He's an old friend I guess you could say." I tell him, pulling the blanket over him.
"How did you meet?" He asks. I roll my eyes at him playfully. "Why do you care little Matt?" I laugh. He just shrugs and smiles. I instantly think of Calum's smile. God, they both had amazing smiles. "Well, if you must know, he used to be an orphan here too, just like me."
"Wow, then why isn't he living here with you and Alice and Daniel?" He yawns. Why was he full of questions? "He got adopted Matthew. Go to sleep now okay?" I tell him, placing a kiss on his forehead. "Okay." He whispers, closing his eyes.
I walk over to Chase, saying goodnight to him as well. I walk out of the small room, closing the door. I look into Lia's room, noticing Alice is already putting her to sleep. I smile, walking downstairs to watch TV. As I walk down the stairs the TV is already on, playing the sports channel. I bend over to see Daniel having a feast in front of the TV.
"Do you plan on sharing any of that?" I say from the bottom of the stairs, causing Daniel to turn his head, mouth full of M&M's. "I don't plan on sharing them with you." He tells me. I raise my eyebrows at him. I run over to where he's sitting on the couch and jump over the armrest.
"Just pass the marshmallows."

I put the last plate of bacon and eggs on the table, making sure everything is set out perfectly. After I'm satisfied, I make my way upstairs. "Alice! Can you make sure Fairly Odd Parents is on TV, it's Lia's favourite!" I call out to Alice whilst walking up the stairs.
"Sure thing chicken wing." She calls back, picking up the TV remote. "You're weird." I laugh, opening Chase and Matthew's door.
"Alright munchkins, time to get up. Bacon and eggs are on the table ready to be eaten!" I walk in opening the blinds. Chase gets straight out of bed and rushes out the door, I assume because of the mention of bacon and eggs.
Matthew lets out a big yawn, signalling he had a deep sleep. "Good dream Matt?" I ask, sitting on the edge of the bed. "It was awesome! You and I were walking down the street holding hands!" He says. I furrow my eyebrows at him. "That doesn't sound so awesome." I tell him, hoping it didn't hurt his feelings.
"But here's the best part! There was a guy on the other side holding my other hand! It was like a family!" Matthew screamed. I laugh until until I think about what he said. "What did this guy look like Matt?" He scrunched his nose, signalling his thinking face.
"Well, he had a red beanie on, and had black hair." He tells me. "Did you see his face at all?" I ask, suddenly intrigued. "Nope." Matthew says, getting out of bed.
I pick him up and put him on my shoulders, walking down the stairs. "Beff?" Matt whispers in my ear. "Yes Matt?"
"The guy looked a bit, well, I don't know the word." He stammers. "You know how the thing above my eyes cover my eyelashes a bit?"
"Your eyelids? Yeah." I tell him. Matt was a cute little kiwi, although his voice had a strong Australian accent.
"The guys eyes looked like mine."

"Beth, where's Matthew and Chase?" Ms Rossi asks. I'm sitting at the table writing a book. Writing always calms me down. "Beth?" Ms Rossi repeats herself.
"Sorry, they're upstairs playing with Lia." I tell her, it was Alice's shift to look over the children right now anyway. "Okay, how's the book coming along?" She peeks over my shoulder, looking at the computer.
"Good I guess. I just wish I could get out of this writer's block." I rub my fingers against my temple. "Well I just kn-" Ms Rossi begins until she's interrupted bye the doorbell.
"I'll get it, you can go relax." I smile, walking over to the door. The doorbell rings again as I walk over to the wooden door. This person has no chill. I twist the doorknob, opening to see a familiar face.
"Hey Violet." Calum walks in without an invitation. "Violet? My name's Bethany, in case you've forgotten." I realise how sassy I sounded. "Yeah, I know Violet." He sits down on the couch.
"Why are you calling me Violet? And why are you here?" I ask, sitting next to him. He looks up and into my eyes. "Because of your eyes. They're a nice violet colour." He simply replies.
"Does that mean I can call you shit? Considering your eyes are poop brown?" I ask him, still looking into his chocolate brown eyes. "Very funny. You can call me Calum, or Cashmoney, or squishy, sometime puppy." He rambles on.
"I'm gonna call you Cal." I reply. "Fine with me Violet."
"So, why are you here?" I ask again, considering we were slightly off track. "I wanted you to meet my friends. So let's go." He stands up, holding his hand out for me to grab. "I'm not even your friend, so why would I meet your friends?"
"Ouch. Fine then Violet, wanna be mates?" He asks, sitting back down next to me. "Um, alright?" I say, "but I'll have to ask Ms Rossi if I could go."
"Wow! Ms Rossi still works here? Man I wanna see her again." He stands up, walking around the couch. "No, she needs to relax. Just wait outside." I push him out the door. It's not that I didn't want Calum to see Ms Rossi again, it's just, I don't think Ms Rossi will remember him.
I walk over to Ms Rossi's room, knocking on the door. "Ms Rossi, can I go out for a bit?" I wait patiently for a reply.
"Sure sweetie, be back by 6." I hear her reply. I close the door, checking my phone. 1pm. That's plenty of time. I walk to the front door, seeing Calum shirtless on the front doorstep. I fall back in shock.
"What are you doing!?" I almost yell, picking myself up. "Whoops, sorry Violet, I was drinking my water and it spilt on my sweater. When I went to take my sweater off, my shirt got stuck to it, so it came off with it." He innocently smiles. He stares into my eyes again, as if he's staring into my soul.
"Are you Asian Cal?" I ask him. I never got to know him when he was in the orphanage. "For fucks sake! I'm from New Zealand!" He laughs. I guess he gets asked that question a lot. Matthew flicks through my mind at the mention of New Zealand. What a coincidence.
"Just put your shirt back on." I tell him. I couldn't help but look at his perfectly toned body. "I can, but I get the feeling I should wait so you can get a longer look." He smirks. I push past him. "Shut up."

"I'm Ashton." A curly haired boy hugs me tight. I hug him back, he was a good hugger. He pulls back, adjusting his bandana. He shoots a smile, sitting down. A boy with dark blue hair stood up.
"Michael. You're really hot by the way." He gives me a hug. At first I'm a tad annoyed due to the cocky behaviour, but I let it go. Maybe he's just a huge flirt. I see a blonde boy roll his eyes in the background. He pulls out his phone, as if he couldn't care less about my appearance.
"Luke? Do you plan on introducing yourself?" Calum flicks his finger on Luke's shoulder. This 'Luke' guy had nice, broad shoulders. "Hi, I'm Luke." He nods his head my way. "Lovely to meet you." I reply.
Ashton starts up a conversation. He begins talking about his job at KFC. At first I was quite interested, until he mentioned a detail for the seventh time. I laugh at his story, considering he's a funny guy. They all seemed really cool, well, Michael and Ash did.
Luke just sat there, no interest at all.
They're people in the world with light purple/blue eyes. My friend does, so it isn't fake :)
