Chapter 7

Featherkit woke up as she heard a yowl from Spottedstar,
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Moonrock for a clan meeting!" Spottedstar yowled from the Moonrock. Featherkit poked her head out of the medicine den. She knew that she wasn't going to be an apprentice yet. She was only four moons old. What could it be? She wondered. Her attention flipped back to Spottedstar as she started talking again.
"Today we gain more warriors! With the apprentices who have trained hard, I am proud to name them, warriors!"
Featherkit's eyes widened, excitment prickling in her paws, wondering whos becoming a warrior. She never knew what a warrior ceremony let alone a clan meeting was like so she was anxious to know. How often does Spottedstar have to do this? She questioned herself then realizing that was pointless to ask any cat. She must make cats warriors every moon! She thought excitedly. Her attention was brought back as she saw two cats step up. she looked closer and then realized who the cats were. That's Stormpaw and Wavepaw! She listened to her leader say ancient words as tradition from starclan,
"I, Spottedstar, leader of Moonclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn."
She turned to Wavepaw first,
"Wavepaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
She listened to Wavepaws response since it was quite faint for her to hear but she heard the words,
"I do."
Spottedstar then continued,
"Stormpaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
She heard Stormpaw much louder than Wavepaw,
"I do."
Spottedstar then nodded and looked at the moon, then back to the apprentices,
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Wavepaw, from this moment you will be known as Waveheart. StarClan honors your bravery, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Moonclan. Stormpaw, from this moment you will be known as Stormstripe. StarClan honors your strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Moonclan." She put her muzzle on each apprentice's head as they licked her shoulder. Featherkit jumped as she all of a sudden heard the clan cheer the new names loudly. She looked around, and then cheered with them. I can't wait until I'm a warrior! She thought with anticipation.
