It was when Mei and Svt were attending Asian Pop Music Awards 2024.

Svt were there because Mei and Woozi had been nominated for the award.

Woozi with "What Kind Of Future" and

Mei with "Spring Day" [Orginally by BTS]

Svt were immensely happy and proud for both of them.

Mei was convinced she couldn't win. There were artist so much better than her and The Woozi was sitting next to her. The guy who had taught her everything about her music, lyrics, composing, producing was nominated with her. No chance she could win.

Bit still she had a little place in her heart where hope had not died, she had been wanting this award since pre-debut days and all the hyungs knew how much it mean't to her. She would have given everything to win.

The awards kept on being announced and slowly but surely it was coming to the award Mei was dreading the most.

And then finally the moment came.

Mei's hand were slick with sweat, her heart beat had become crazy, she was slightly shaking and trying to regulate her breathing.

The host had started announcing the nominees.

Jeonghan hugged her closer.

"Mei-ya dont worry you'll win, Spring Day is such an amzing song and even Woozi will win, both of you" Jeonghan reassured her but the words had little to no effect on her.

The host had started to come to the point now.

She was so sure she wouldn't win, then why she getting nervous.

Because that little part in heart wanted her to win. This would be a milestone in her career if she did. She had always wanted this award now that she was so close she shouldn't have given up on winning.

And then judge was finally announcing the winners.

"The Best Lyricist Award goes too....", he paused trying to create a suspenseful atmosphere.

He opened the envelope

"Woozi-ssi!" The hosts finally said

Mei finally relaxed on her seat, the adrenaline rush going away little by little, she didn't win, it was ok, Woozi won and anyways she had many more years to get the award. It was fine.

But not to fine to the little part in heart which desperately wanted to win, which had been reciting all of Mei's sacrifices and achievements to come here. That part was dissapointed but what she heard next would make that small part the while heart.

Because, unbeknownst to her the host wasn't finished

"And Mei-ssi!", The host finished

Mei thought her eyes would burst from the amount of widening. Mei took atleast a minute to process that, she couldn't hear the the applause over the blood roaring in her ears. The little part in her heart sang out loud, Mei's efforts had bore fruits.

She wouldn't even have gotten up if woozi didn't drag her up to stage, which was concerningly easy for him.

After the initial shock, Mei had become so happy. She could hardly stand in one place.

After they received their award, woozi gave and speech and let Mei give hers.

Mei was still dumbfounded she was finding the right words to speak, but they came right to her mouth, she didn't have to search for long.

"First of all I'd like to thank my Mother and Father for always encouraging my dreams and letting me go to Korea to pursue them at the age of just 11, they had a lot of concerns but they did not let that stop me" Mei said incredibly happy and with a sparkle in her eyes

"Also thanks to my brother, Mingming who has always supported me no matter how much teasing and has also been a crucial part in convincing my parents to let me go, because it would be stupid to think my parents would let their 11 year old go to completely different company so easily"

Mei said earning a laugh from the crowds.

"I'd also like to thank my members for constantly being my support and motivation"

Jeonghan oppa for always being my therapist and partner in crime

Joshua oppa for always being so nice and gentle

Jun oppa for always having my back

Hoshi oppa for always teaching me all the dances no matter how much time it took

Wonwoo oppa for always listening to everything I had to say no matter how stupid

Dokyeom oppa for always making me laugh

Mingyu oppa for always giving me his food and support

Minghao oppa for always being by my side and never leaving me alone

Seungkwan oppa for being the most understanding and energetic

Vernon oppa for always being kindest and letting me play with his hair when it was long enough

Dino for always being so amazing even though we fight" Mei said dedicating something to each of her members

"And special thanks to woozi oppa for believing in me when even I and the world didn't and for teaching me everything I know" Mei said looking at Woozi

"Thank you Seventeen for always making me feel included and so safe, even though I was the only girl, I have never felt any different. Your more than just my members your my family"

A loud applause was heard from Seventeen.

"And last but not least, Carats, who have always cheered me and svt on, whether it be cutting my own hair or making a whole album you always been there with us the whole way"

"Thank you so much all of you!" Mei said sincerely, every word she spoke, every letter was true. She was so so grateful for her family back in China and here in Korea.

"If you love us so much, buy us all dinner!", Hoshi shouted

"Fine, party on me", Mei said in the mic

Seventeen cheered harder at this then when Woozi and Mei won the award.

When Mei and Woozi came down, they did a group hug and felt extremely happy.

Each member felt proud. They had been the people Mei had looked up while growing up to Korea, they never understood how much of an impact they had had on Mei until now and to be honest they would not trade it even for the world.
